So, I'm dating a lawyer and he seems to hardly have any time for me (even returning an email takes a while, like 2 wks...in the beginning it took a little less time) I know his job is very busy and keeps him occupied. If anyone is a lawyer dating a non-lawyer or vice versa, please give your advice...is it really such a busy schedule or should I move on? (I really do like him though and when we do meet or talk, it doesn't seem like he's losing interest). BTW, we haven't even kissed yet but talk endlessly when we meet...

This is a tough one. There's even a book called "How to Stay Married to a Lawyer" (or something like that). We lawyers even have a saying "The law is a jealous mistress." If he is just starting out in his career, he will be swamped by the needs of those above him in the firm. If he is mid-level or partner, he will be swamped with pleasing the clients.

That being said, two weeks to respond to e-mail is unusual. Try dating a starving artist (that's what my wife did, and a few years later, I became a lawyer).

My sister is married to a lawyer and she has a similar problem. Depending on the type of lawyer he is (my brother in law is a defense attorney) he will be very busy. If you can't handle the busy schedule then you should defintely get out now before you really fall for him. BTW, my sister is miserable and wants out.

I don't think it matters. If it is only his job then great he really likes you! But who cares if he can never find time to be with you. And if it isn't the job then (sorry to be cliche) but "he is just not that into you".

You should be with someone who has time to spend with you and will change things around and find time for you no matter how busy he is! There are a million people out there dont wase your time with someone who doesn't care to give you any of his.

Lawyers, if they are good, work A LOT of hours.
I think maybe over 60 hrs a week, and they are in court a lot.

Move on - if it's taking him 2 weeks to answer a bloody email, face it - he's just not that into you. No one is that busy...especially lawyers...

Doctor, lawyer, or Indian chief...no matter how busy a guy is, if he's really into you he'll make time for you.
