The Bible was written over 500 years before the Koran.

The bible was written first. Parts of it were carried down from pre-writing times (as early as 4000 bc) via oral tradition, and the first parts of it were written down hundreds if not about 1000 years bc. The last book to be written, Revelations, was written about 120 ad.

The koran, on the other hand, was first written about 550 ad. It is said that Mohammed heard it from Allah and started writing it down about that time, though I don't know how long it took him to do it all.

Muslims face Mecca when they pray five times a day. Jonah was most likely facing Jerusalem, because that was where the holy temple was until the Romans destroyed it in 70 ad (now all that's left is the wailing wall). Because Jonah was Jewish, it would have been a very very important spot to him.

The Koran was written 500 years later.

In the years following Muhammad’s death, there was some confusion about the contents of the Koran, with several different versions in circulation. An authoritative version was eventually issued by the ruling clerics and all other copies were burned.

Those who compiled the Koran were unsure of the original order of the chapters, so they were arranged in order of length, with the longest chapter first and the shortest last.

The Quran was written 500 years after the Bible. Muslims believe the same message that Muslims follow today was sent to people even before Islam existed because it was all sent by the same God. However, there are many versions of the Bible, and they continue to come out long after the one and only version of the Quran came out.

Jews faced East towards the Temple in Jerusalem.
Christians started building their churches to face East.
Moslems copied the idea & face East towards Mecca.

The Bible started 2000 years Before Christ.
The Christian scriptures were written over 200 years AD.
The Koran & Islam developed around the year 600.

The very last book of the Bible, Revelation, was written about 96 AD. Koran came much later. Check Google.

The Bible was taken from old Jewish texts and then the new testament was added to it. It was nearly 300 years after the death of christ before it was created. The Koran is mostly drawn from the texts of Jewish and Christian faiths and was not fully accredited until around 900 or nearly 300 years after Muhammed had died.
The Jews holy place is in Jerusalem at the site of the old temple of Solomon. That may be what you read is referring to.
The unfortunate part is it was written by people who by today's standards would all be considered of low mental capacity and so they all should be understood to be works of mostly fiction.

The oldest part of the Old Testament is around 4,000-5,000 years old, and was told orally for many years before that.

The entire Bible was written over the span of around 2,000 years by dozens of people. The modern Bible was assembled in 367 AD.

The Koran was written by one person over the course of around 20 years, and reached it's final form in around 600 AD.

There were thousands of followers of Christ for hundreds of years before there was ever a single Muslim.

Godspeed.
