I have an eyelash that has become ingrown. You can see the eyelash, but a thin layer of skin has grown completely over it. I've tried to pick at it, but it is so tender my eyes start watering every time I touch it. Any suggestions (before I call the doctor in the morning)?

I had this happen to me and i t does hurt like heck. I washed my eyelid with soap that I knew would dry up my skin. The dry skin pulled back after the first day and I was able to carefully pull the eyelash out.

Put a warm compress on it. Just soak a wash cloth in warm water for a few minutes, ring it out, and lay over your eyelid. It should help to relieve some of the pain, and help the swelling to go down. If that doesn't help, call your doctor. He or she might be able to help you pull it out carefully.

The only suggestion I have is don't mess with it! I had a stye on my upper eyelid once and I picked at it and gave myself an infection. Not fun! Go see your doc.

Just a warm, wet washcloth. Nothing else unless it is a nice steamy bath.
