all 10 of my dogs love to stick their heads out of the window!
I dont know why they do that but I think its because some dogs love to feel the air blowing in thier face, while some dogs get car sick and afraid of riding in a car!
But most dogs love air blowing in thier face especially when its Hot!

They like the smell and the wind in their face. But not all dogs do that, I've had plenty of dogs and when you roll down the window on a hot day, they dogs don't even care.

I read somewhere that dogs are ultra sensitive to smells. And for them to be trapped in a car with a human is unberable. So dogs stick their head out to get relief.

I don't have dogs and never had one. What I heard once is that dogs perspire through their tongues and it may be convenient when the wind effect is on them in a moving car as they stick out their licks too.

Because the owners let them;It is actually not good for their eyes;with all that hair ; it (the hair)could very well damage the eyeball. The reason that the dog does this is so that he can smell everything and find his/her way back home.

it feels (and smells) good to the dog! try it yourself when riding with someone else.
But remember its dangerous for dogs to do this. Many have lost eyes to fast moving debris or sometimes even BUGS.

canines love autos, nicely, maximum of them, something basically throw up from action ailment. i think of it is the wind factor. canines had no subject distinguishing colours on the choice ends of the seen spectrum, which comprise purple and blue, and that they proved to be demons with blues ordinarily, right this moment discovering to tell apart blue from violet. yet they bombed at different colours, confusing greenish-yellow, orange, and purple. The researchers concluded that canines be stricken by a style of colorblindness that for the time of human beings is stated as deuteranopia. typical human beings have 3 forms of colour receptors for purple, green, and blue. Deuteranopes lack the fairway receptor, and as a effect (curiously) won't be able to tell a lemon from a lime--or, for that rely, a purple site visitors gentle from a green one. one greater reason to place your foot down next time the pooch says he needs tochronic.

No one knows for sure since they can't tell us, but experts believe that they love the sensation of the wind as well (and probably the #1 reason) as all the great, interesting smells.
