I have had several demons try to possess me. Your fear is not really that big a problem other than it's not fun... hopefully this will help eliminate that. What I do always works. RememberJesus said follow him, follow his example. He came to show us the way. He said these things he did, we would come to do also, and more..
If it should happen, you will think, feel, believe you are paralyzed and completely helpless. But it's only a test. You can either fight, or surrender. Either way it WILL leave. If you don't want a demon, you won't have one. Even if you have a subconscious program, the fact that you are concerned and aware renders that program invalid. So no worries! =)
The first time I surrendered. It faded away and out the window. The entire experience -less than a minute. The 2nd time, I got mad, so even tho I felt I couldn't move, I knew I could, so I said Yes I can so move! and I did! The spell was broken.-- approx. 30 secs.
The 3rd time, it was a super evil demon, much worse than the others, so I really was terrified. This time it took alot more effort of will to get my body to move, but I did it! I then realized they had just sent me a more advanced test, to prove how I am NEVER powerless even under the worst circumstances. A valuable state of mind to develop, I am quite grateful!!
Demons are sent as demonstrations by our higher God Christ selves (we make up the body of Christ) w/Spirit guides/Angels help. The demon is not real, just an illusion sent to prove your power. Paradoxical as most things prove to be,--it's a good thing.
My guardian angels told me clearly... these "tests" are to help us learn to excape the victim/victimizer cycle being played out to the hilt right now. It's time for us to demonstate fear is the illusion that allows this game to continue. I'm game to learn a NEW game!!! =) You too can move thru it quickly, or even skip it now that u know the deal.
I have been also been tested with demons in dream and semi conscious states. The victim role can be played to learn humility or to "pay" for sins, etc. But none of that is required to get into heaven. What has been no longer has to be... if your higher self sends demos to help you wake up, if you fail to twitch, the entity will fade away and come again another day. One day annoyance will outweight fear, and you will twitch!!! =D

How to get rid of your extreme fear? By realizing truth and reality. I am Christian too, so its not like Im an athiest telling that your stupid for beliving that, but its silly to think that there are actually demons who possess people and make them do stuff. That was a movie, it was called The Exorcist, a good movie at that but its still fake. How many times have you heard throughout history that someone was supposedly possessed when they were really mentally insane or mentally retarded? I dont think Satan will send his minons out to get you even if it were true, he would go for someone in power like Bush or the leader of some other country, not (and no offense) an unknown person nobody has ever heard of.

If you really are a Christian, you wouldn't be afraid of being possessed. Your trust is in Christ alone, objects, like the cross, are there just to give you a physical reminder of His sacrifice. But they don't have magical powers that will help you ward off demons. As long as you trust in God, read His Word, and apply what you've learned in your everyday living. "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you", says the Lord.[1] "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." [2] Hold on to these verses, they come from your Creator, the Only One who demons are afraid of.

First of all, if you are truly a true born again christian saved by the blood of Christ, by your faith in Him, then you can never be possesed by demons. Secondly, I haven't met a christian that hasn't been messed with by the enemy in some way or another. The Holy Spirit already dwells in the saved and the two cannot dwell together in the same body. The demons can only enfluence you from the outside. But they can't do much unless you allow it. You have the power of the God who 's son died if you are saved. His power is greater than the enemy's. The cross can do nothing for you.So your only weapon is the Word, study it speak it and believe it. Your faith in God and His Word is what sets you free.

In Biblical times, demon afflict humans in various ways. Thats why we are encouraged to stay away from occult practices as a prevention. To resist wicked spirit forces, a person should guard against association with those who dabble in magic, witchcraft and the like. Instead, association should be sought with those who are true Christians. You should remove from your home any object having any connection with demonic religion.
Unfortunately, in Hollywood they seem to give the idea that a "cross" would save you, but thats not the case. The best prevention is avoidance. Putting our minds and hearts fixed on the worship and service of their heavenly Father will protect you.

This extreme fear is purely psycological. Having the cross at night should make you feel better. When i was in the army, my beret crest was blessed by 8 religions. So that served as a protection for those who believed in God. I'm not a christian. But if wearing a cross lowers your fear, then it works.

From what I've heard, most possessions are provoked by the person doing something or disturbing something. If you don't do anything, you'll be okay. If there's a particular place that you're afraid of, go there for a while and see that nothing happens to you.
I did the same thing when I was a kid. I thought there was a ghost in my attic at night who was going to attack me. So one night I slept up there. The night was terrible, I was frightened and I couldn't sleep, but when the morning came, I was cured.

Sweet Pea no. The only thing that can protect you is the word of God that is the only way demons will flee. When his name is spoken the walls of hell literately tremble. God does not give us a spirit of fear but of peace and a sound mind. Get some oil and anoint your house and ask God to remove all evil things the reside within it. God Bless!

Hi, Mary. Let's talk about demons. They are fallen angels in the service of Satan, who is simply a fallen archangel. It may help you to realize that Satan is not a god, not even a shadow of the power of the God who created heaven and earth.
When Jesus was tempted by Satan, his response was to quote scripture to refute the evil arguments. Thus, your first line of defense is to marshal God's words against Satan's words.
To learn more about how Satan operates, you may want to read a classic book called The Screwtape Letters, by C. S. Lewis. It is a collection of letters from a senior demon to a junior demon, advising him on how to tempt a new Christian. It is not only clever, and a thorough analysis on how the devil operates, but also an entertaining way to teach Christianity.
The modern word for Satan's methods of temptation is memetics. Satan spreads memes, which are a sort of verbal virus you can catch. They are ideas you can "catch" that lodge in your mind and affect your thinking. But if you examine these memes in the light of Jesus' teachings, you can refute them and be set free from them.
Catholics call crosses, crucifixes, scapular medals, and other religious objects "sacramentals." They don't have any magical power, but they can serve as reminders to us to remember Jesus, his teachings, and his sacrifice on our behalf. This, in turn, can help us resist satanic memes.

Wearing a cross won't do anything by itself. Putting the cross on should be an internal declaration of faith. It is a literal act of prayer.
Try saying: "In wearing this symbol of Your Passion, I dedicate myself to Your care, that I may serve You alone forever. Amen."
I also advise you to pray to God and ask why you are so afraid and what you need to do to change that. God bless you.
