I dunno either. But then again -- some people find it easier to believe that God made us from dirt than He allowed us to evolve from a primate ancestor. And still others say that God can't exist as an eternal being w/o a beginning or end, but they do seem to believe that the impersonal universe has no beginning and no end and is eternal.
So, you know what? I took an Ambien about 20 mins ago and I'm feeling no pain and it's getting harder and harder for me to make words appear on my computer so I'm just gonna say : To each his/her own!
Go in Peace my brothers, sisters and anything in-between!! Put the petty theological squabbles on the back burner just for the long weekend and go out and love one another and bust out the BBQ pit and slap some steaks and weenies and chicken parts on there and invite some nice athiests and agnostics and a few cute Muslims and Hindiis, and the Wiccan that lives across the street and her pagan girlfriend, and a few of the drag queens from over on the gay bar side of town, and a few of the muscle bears from their gay side of town and tell em to bring all the tea and KoolAid and beer and soda pop they want and let them into your back yard, throw down a Slip 'N' Slide on one end of the back yard and a Naked Twister game on the other side of the yard, and have swimsuits optional water play, crank up some tunes from the Fall Down Boys and have a great, blessed Labor Day. Amen.
Oh, and take pix for me.
Peace! God, I'm sleepyZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

With the great immensity of the universe, I think it's nearly impossible that earth is the only planet capable of sustaining intelligent life. Anstromers and astrophysicists have noted several other planets that may approximate earth's water content and distance from a star. Whether those other intelligent life forms would have the means and motivation to visit earth is a lot less likely, but it could happen. Why should humans assume themselves to be the most advanced race in the universe? So I do believe that there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe that may have reached earth.
However, for me to believe in God, I need to assume that there is such a thing as the spiritual realm, for which there is no observable evidence. I'd also need to assume that this spiritual being would have the power and motivation to create things in the physical realm. And, to be in accordance with many religions, I'd have to assume this being to have man like personality traits and emotional needs, yet be all powerful and everywhere at once yet invisible. That's just too many assumptions for my logical liking.

someone above said if there are aliens then there is no God.. But why would that be true? Just because Jesus came to our world doesnt mean he couldnt have 1. gone to another world for the same reason or 2. gave others different ways to get to God.

Because aliens aren't requiring any sort of accountability.
After all, if there are aliens there can't be a God right? (very strange sort of reasoning with no basis)

Because there's more proof that aliens are real - have you ever seen a video or picture of God? Nope. I've seen numerous videos and pictures of UFOs and there have been a lot of reports from various sources (including air force pilots who are far more likely to be able to identify flying objects). It's rather arrogant to believe we're the only intelligent life in the universe.

Aliens would be natural, not supernatural. They would have evolved on their own world, by the same process of natural selection.

aliens are not supposed to be omnipotent and omnipresent, so lack of evidence doesn't conflict with the possibility that they exist.
