When it is family, none of us can stand much of a stand-off, so even if there is no agreement reached, hugs and kisses are exchanged before parting company. I know it sounds corny, but we just don't have much to really fight about. We are, however, the most heated debaters, and the finest pranksters in this area. I did take too long to apologize to my ex daughter-in-law. I did think she was wrong, then I got a reality check. How can I hope to win her if I am not the best example of what God can do for even someone who so hurt my family.

I rarely, rarely let any argument linger. I don't like being angry for long periods of time. If I'm having an argument with someone, I'll do everything in my power to "solve" as much as I can within an hour or two.

But again, it depends. I'm more quick to apologize with my fiance than I am, say, my parents. Which again makes no sense.

Hmm I don't often apologize. Actions speak louder than words and all that :p But, not long. My mother is one to hold a grudge all day, or for several days. It makes for a very uncomfortable environment and I make sure to be very aware of it and of the way I behave afterwards.

I can't stand it when we've had a tiff, so I try to get him talking as soon as possible to clear the air. Everyone says things in haste and anger; forgiving each other and forgetting it is the best thing you can do when you love someone. I always ask myself what's more important, me being right, or or relationship?

If your'e in love with someone it should be completed as soon as possible. I wouldn't want someone holding back if they trully loved me and it sounds like someones concious is eating at them so the sooner the better. Either way it will relieve both sides of the stress.

Depends on the fight and really who~ I love my family but the in laws, well some of that can wait.
Like I said, if it was some blah blah stuff let it slide.
If its important start talking.

I usually apologize within hours . . . which is long enough for me to affirm that I continue to be a spoiled brat and need to lighten up and realize that "you can't always get what you want."

My natural tendency is to retreat into myself and close up. Not wise! It takes a real effort on my part to try and immediately make amends. I don't have a problem with apologising, just dealing with people & situations (again, overthinking things comes into play with me)--I'm a real introvert! lol
