my son would like to know if someone out there knows what it is that makes them pop and if it could be made at home. i'm guessing it's some kind of cardon dioxide thing going on but, i really have no idea. thanks for your help.

The ingrediants are sugar, lactose 'milk sugar', corn syrup and flavoring.

The candy is made by mixing its ingredients and heating them until they melt, then exposing the mixture to pressurized carbon dioxide gas and allowing it to cool, trapping the pressurized gas inside.

When placed into the mouth coming into contact with the saliva the candy breaks and melts, releasing the carbon dioxide from the tiny 60 atm bubbles, resulting in a popping and sizzling sound and leaving a slight tingling sensation

yes they were a favorite of mine and still are, love them , all flavors!

I have no idea.I WISH I KNEW. I DO remember my mother talking about some candy_ drink called fizzies long ago.
IT had some of the ingredients as you find in alkseltzer.

Yes, they're cool. Yes, it's carbon dioxide.
Cadbury has chocolates out at Easter that has them in it - really interesting mouth feel!
Doubt they could be made at home.

yeah you are on the right track but its unkown if theres actually a home recipe for it.

I've tried it before, but i don't think you can make it at home.
