I imagine you would feel sad...

Guess it's time to find a new role model then. :( Good luck!

Like they really let me down. Its strange becuase I have professors who I utterly detest and when they pull some unfortunate things, i really don't care, because my opinion of them is so low and/or apathetic.
Now if I particurally like a professor, and then something he does just wrecks this thing opinion i have of them, then I feel disgruntled, angry at myself for putting so much faith in this one person, all in addition to the trouble I feel already from the initial disappointment.
Case in point, my advisor for Asian Studies. She's a fascinating woman, and when I took a grad class with her, it was 12 mature open interative people. The class met once a week and it was amazing how the ideas flowed. Now I have her for a basic Chinese class, and its a boring survey class, and I feel as though Im getting no where in a class of 45, in a hot stuffy room, with no student to student to prof involvement. Its like my enthusiasm is dying for the three days a week we meet.
So yeah, it feels terrible.

Professors are human beings too and they make mistakes and they do stupid things. Perhaps you should just concentrate on making YOU the best person you can be and not expect someone to live up to your expectations.

As Fritz Perle once said you are not in the world to live up to my expectation and I am not in the world to live up to your expectations , but perhaps if we can just be , together , it will be beautiful.

Disappointed.
Then I realize that he or she is human and subject to all the same temptations I am.
My disappointment comes because the Prof. didn't live up to MY expectations of HIM or HER.
Poor me.
Perfection is not a human trait.

Its disappointing. But he is just a person. All people sin. Only God is perfect.

You shouldn't put people on a pedestal. The higher you put them, the farther they can fall.

Realize that people are people and no one is perfect.
