Sounds like you normally are pretty careful about these things.

On an occasional basis, our bodies can excrete excess sodium either through perspiration or in our urine.

You will probably need more water in the next 24 hours to balance this.

Drink a lot of water, exercise and take a nice long hot bath when you get home so you can sweat out some of the salt. If that's the case, don't take a bath. A cold shower will do just fine just to rinse the salt off your body.

If you exercise a lot, you will sweat it off. However, your body will naturally get rid of it. Just drink water and you body will flush out any excess salt. I would not worry about an occasional "over dose" of salt. I bet you had already exceeded what you need already.

An occasional slip with anything is not too bad, what you need to watch out for is a constant habit of eating too much salt or other things that are not too good for you.

Industry passes out salt tablets to workers when it is hot and they sweat a lot. Go do your exercises. When you sweat, you lose a lot anyway. Sodium is an electrolyte, and that is what you lose when sweating. It is chock full in Gatorade and other sports drinks.
