I read all the answers. I didn’t see any one mention that ol’ natural laxative:
black licorice.
OR am I alone on this one?

Thank you for asking your question. I enjoyed taking the time to answer it. You did a great job - not only for your information, but for every other person interested in reading my answer. Thanks to everyone for reading my answer.

I would think it was the "drastic and fast" switch that's causing this. Your original plan to slowly mix and change the food over a period of weeks is the way to go. I've been through it too (a few times) and have had bags of food all over the kitchen. (buy smaller bags!) If you're lucky enough to have friends that use either/or/both the foods you're switching to and from you might be able to arrange some type of swap until your totally switched over. Good luck and provide plenty of water during this time.

That's what I get every time I eat seafood! I feel the diarrhea coming on before I feel the nausea. That's why I don't eat it, but sometimes seafood ends up in some appetizers and I don't know it. Look Out - Let Me Get to the Toilet!!!

Hope this helps you!!! diarrhea is more on how the food is prepared and where it comes from places like Mexico that has no restrictions on there farm land in turn raw sewage is used for watering vegetables and other chemicals that are band in the usa are used.
Most diarrhea is caused by an infection (viral, bacterial, or parasitic), often from food or water. Diarrhea produces watery stools and lasts only a few days. Eating local food and drinking local water during foreign travel can result in "traveler's diarrhea." Diarrhea can also be caused by reactions to medications (including some vitamins, minerals and herbs) and ingestion of milk or dairy products by people who are lactose-intolerant. A different type of diarrhea that results in blood in the stool, accompanied by fever or abdominal pain, could be caused by intestinal disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease or Crohn's disease, and requires a doctor's care.
