would you want to meet the faces behind the names on here. get to know the people that ask and answer the questions that you enjoy so much. get to know the real person, make new friends. all to be invited, regardless of background, race, religion, or no religion. they could hand out r&s t-shirts and have food and games, like a festival or something. would anybody on here attend if they were able?

par 1138- yes, i would love to attend, i think it would be a lot of fun, meeting all of the r&sers, even the ones that i disagree with, there are a bunch of great people on here. plus it's a really good chance to meet new and exciting people with different views. who knows, you just might make a lot of new friends.

tim b - thats a good idea, everyone could wear a name tag with their avatar name on it and under it their real name, if they wanted to disclose their real name. and we could stick them on our r&s t-shirts.

Yes, but only if someone could pay my way. I cannot afford any sort of time off from work. Not only must my "travel/accommodations" expenses be covered, but the "lost wages" from that time must also be compensated for. Savings? What are savings?
I would love to attend to meet all the different people... what a HOOT that would be.. and a whole lot "funner" than a trekkie convention!
Have a blessed day!

Yahoo did have a convention of sorts, last December, they we celebrating Answers birthday, and had a rewards Banquet,
it was quite a gala affair, and a great way to meet fellow users, and make new friends.
I was planning to go but had to work, so my wife went alone, but she did bring me back a great Yahoo sweatshirt.
and she still keeps in contact with the friends she met there.
Yes I will definitely go to the next one.
EDIT; When Yahoo put on an event they really go all out.

There are a few here I'd enjoy actually meeting... if it were close enough and an informal event, sure, why not. I'm not sure I'd want to participate in an official yahoo event... I'd be too tempted to sock some moderators.

It's not a matter of deciding if I *would* attend, it would rather be a question of if I *could* attend, with so many drinking questions...
> if yahoo held a convention forfellow R&S users would you attend and why?

I would attend if it was within a few hundred miles from my house. I've seen some of pictures here, so I would recognize a lot of people.I think only one person here might know who I was if that person saw me.
I'd certainly go if sexy nuns were there.

I would delight in going! -Absolutely Love it!
Most of us who frequent R&S are friends anyways.
It would be so fantastic to meet here on Earth, before there or in the air!
Bring it on YA I say, your not short of a quid and imagine the publicity you would get!!!

I'd be delighted to meet some of the real people behind the avatars. There are some really terrific people on this forum, both theists and nontheists. I'd bring flowers (a platonic offering of respect) to Pangel, Debra M, RedQueen, Raven's Voice, and Bettie.

As long as there was free food, I would be there.
I think the people that would show up would be the more mature ones on here - the immature haters and flamers would not be allowed to go by their parents.

No, I think that too many people have preconceived notions of who and what we are all and with today's mentality, I'd hate to be a disappointment to anybody =)
