Ezekiel 24:15 The word of the LORD came to me: 16 "Son of man, behold, I am about to take the delight of your eyes away from you at a stroke; yet you shall not mourn or weep, nor shall your tears run down. 17 Sigh, but not aloud; make no mourning for the dead. Bind on your turban, and put your shoes on your feet; do not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men."
18 So I spoke to the people in the morning, and at evening my wife died. And on the next morning I did as I was commanded. 19 And the people said to me, "Will you not tell us what these things mean for us, that you are acting thus?"
20 Then I said to them, "The word of the LORD came to me: 21 'Say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the delight of your eyes, and the yearning of your soul, and your sons and your daughters whom you left behind shall fall by the sword. 22 And you shall do as I have done; you shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men. 23 Your turbans shall be on your heads and your shoes on your feet; you shall not mourn or weep, but you shall rot away in your iniquities and groan to one another. 24 Thus shall Ezekiel be to you a sign; according to all that he has done you shall do. When this comes, then you will know that I am the Lord GOD.'
God killed his wife as a dramatic sign to the Jewish people. We may not think that was fair but just like in the book of Job where at the beginning God allows Satan to kill Job's 10 children we have to look at the Scriptures from a divine viewpoint. At the end of the book of Job God gives him twice what he lost before in possessions but only 10 new children. Job's first 10 children will be reunited with him for eternity in Heaven with God just like Ezekiel's wife will be too.

24:017 Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.
24:018 So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
I don't believe that God killed Ezekiel's wife, I believe that God allowed Ezekiel's wife to die.
The nation of Israel was acting like an adulterous wife, worshiping strange Pagan Gods and ignoring God's Law.
The Death of Ezekiel's wife foretold the "death" of Israel, the "wife" of God. In the New Covenant the Church, or Assembly of Believers replaces Israel as the wife of God.
I don't ever remember reading anything about Ezekiel's wife being a virtuous woman. Do you have a verse I could review?

You see, God is a righteous God. That means everything He does is right. God had a reason for going that route of taking the wife instead of using other object of lesson. You see, in the Book of Jude, in the Bible, God hates it when we put our mouths in what we do not know anything about. If we can't explain God's action, just trust Him that He will always do what is right.

Centuries later the prophet Ezekiel was commanded not to weep over the death of his wife. The word of Jehovah to him was: “You should not beat your breast, neither should you weep nor should your tears come on. Sigh without words. Ezekiel’s refraining from any outward display of mourning had a purpose. It served as a prophetic sign to the Israelites in Babylonian exile, pointing out to them that Jehovah God would profane his temple, which was as precious to them as Ezekiel’s wife was to him. Contrary to their hopes, Jerusalem would be destroyed, and there in exile they would not be able to give full expression to their grief.—Ezek. 24:20-24.

Doesn't God kill everyone in the end? We're not immortal after all.

Because God hates all people! Satan is the way to freedom from distruction! In the bible it says God will make a new heaven and earth, and he will destroy all the souls in heaven.
If you want to be destroyed you know the path to take.
