Actually the character Moses parted the 'Sea of Reeds'. Whatever that is. But the Sea of Reeds isn't quite flashy enough to sell bibles (or epic motion pictures) so certain people have translated it instead into the Red Sea. Feel free to look up the original translation.
As for how long that would take?
Well seeing as there is ZERO archaeological evidence for such an event ever happening, I'd say it would take an instant. Sure, why not? Yahweh makes up his own rules, so whatever. In fact, Yahweh sent down a UFO to pick up the Hebrews and they gave Pharaoh's men a Pink Floyd Laser Light Show before crossing.

Well actually there is more evidence to suggest that it was the sea of reeds, which is more like a small lake than a sea, so it prbly didn't take long.

The actual crossing didn't take but a few minutes. Most of the time was spent waiting for the bus.

Well, they were Jews, so you know some of the women were reluctant and slowing them down, saying stuff like "What, you expect me to walk on that wet ground?" and "Sure, he can part the Sea, but can he help me carry my bags across?"

A long time.
Especially since they were all on drugs (hence they think Moses defied the LAWS of physics) and had to stop for munchies every five minutes.

Better question.
How come magic seemed very relevant during those times but is hasn't happened since then and has never been in the slightest case exemplified in a scientific study?
