that you can avoid pain and suffering and receive your perfect body earlier ? Why do we mourn the dead or prolong the suffering of people that we think will be in a "better" place ???

It is fine for a person to decide to stop further treatment. One word of caution, it needs to be spelled out with the family in case they slip away and are no longer able to communicate their wishes. If left up to the family without the proper direction and buy-in, they may have the power to go completely against the person's wishes.
We mourn people because we miss them - sometimes we want the comfort/happiness that came with seeing them and being around them. As for prolonging suffering, it's about not being able to give up hope that the person will get better.

Why does the human race not understand? It is written of Jesus' teaching that the last enemy to be destroyed is death. Clearly this shows that there is no free lunch. Heaven is not the reward for believing in and fearing death for the duration of a mortal existence. Death has no power to elevate mortals into a higher state of consciousness, but an understanding of Christ is the door.
As far as mourning, let the dead bury the dead.

The idea that people should hang in there and let God be the one to determine when they actually depart comes from a respect for the sovereignty of God. But it isn't a command found in the Scriptures. There are several incidents where a person like King Saul and his armor bearer committed suicide rather than fall into the hands of the enemy and the Bible just records them and goes on without comment about what God's reaction to these actions might have been.

That is a great question. Is rejecting medical help like committing suicide? Or is it messing around with God's will?

I am an atheist, but I would suspect most religious people feel that you should not just let your self die with out efforts to live.

Well, according to the Catholics (and most American Christian sects) you are supposed to suffer until the very end and not die until your body completely gives up. Which is just plain stupid, but I guess that's what Yahweh wants.

God gave us free Will.
It should be your choice. I know of someone who chose to decline treatment just for the sake of dying in peace.
Others have taken treatment, suffered immeasurably, and for what cause?

my cousin did that. He had cancer that they found very late and he could either try some experimental treatment that would have made him sick or just live out the last few months of his life in peace. He choose to live out the rest of his life without treatment.

Would not that be somewhat like suicide. If you know that a drug could help you live another five years and you choose not to take it. Are you not killing yourself. If so then according to scripture, you can not go to heaven. Because you committed suicide. It would be a sin. You are going to hell buddy.

Would you want a person you care about (that is christian) to be euthanized, reject prayer or medical help to just die?
Do you want them to be here longer?
My wife loved Jesus (I'm a widower).I Know she is with Jesus (better).I still can't discribe the desire to have her with me.

The choice is yours I believe...but what for instance you were able to be cured or at least made comfortable and were able to witness and possibly bring someone to God would you opt for the cure or leave that soul stranded?
