It is like totally real, 30 years ago the average temperature of the planet was constant for about 750,000 years...at about 58 +/-.5 degrees F. Then the planet started to warm up rapidly due to the carbon footprint of folks, except for the years in which Al was VP (the same years that high carbon footprint SUVs had record sales, psst don't talk about that, Al bought 2). It is perfectly clear and fully supported by the data of the esteemed scientists of the Yahoo GW Answers fan club that the average temperature of the planet can only be changed by an increase carbon footprints and nothing else could possibly alter the average temperature....nothing. So, here you have it. That settles it. A +.8 degrees C in 40 years has never ever, ever been experienced by the planet and the very expensive CD-ROM computer model bought by Al from the Erin-Go-Bra-less Pub, L.L.C., (located on Blarney St., Dublin) clearly predicts a massive +10 degree C change in average temperature within the next 7 years, followed by a massive tidal wave, and a rate cut by Helicopter "Ben" Bernanke and a massive shorting of gold by Hedge-fund "Hog" Paulson, formerly of Goldman-Sacks Hedge-funds. We need to eliminate all fiat money and issue new stuff based on Carbon Credits. I'm dead serious. Give the world a financial course grind coffee enema. Then we can establish a new Carbon order in Brussels, Belgium, run by Al and Dr. Hugo. That will solve everything.

It's not possible for global warming to be a myth. That's not how science works. Scientists don't gather together in a dark basement and ask 'what phenomenon can we invent this week to fleece the stupid populace?'.

Scientists gather data, analyze the data, and then draw an unbiased conclusion. It's their job to be objective. If a scientist falsifies data, his reputation is ruined and his career is basically over.

Climate scientists have concluded that the current global warming has been primarily caused by humans. There's nothing mythical about it. It's science, and it's already happening.

It's tough to sort out, isn't it? We haven't seen this many lies being told since Europe in the 1930's. This link will show you the more frequently repeated lies, and why they are lies.

There are natural cycles of heating and cooling that have always been there. Global Warming refers to the additional heating caused by industrialization. It began roughly 100 years ago.

Whatev's! People believe everything they hear. Everyone goes around saying, "We're killing the polar bears!"

Just because you watch the news for 5 minutes and the television guy says that global warming is real, that doesn't mean it's real! If the media told you that the world will explode tomorrow, would you believe them?

How come people believe what they hear in the media without looking at different views?

There's no question that Earth's temperature is rising. The idea that's controversial is whether or not the warming is caused by humans.

Personally, I think it is. Pollution and warming have been increasing since the industrial revolution, and it seems ridiculous to think that all that hasn't affected the environment.

In brief Yes.
Current "global warming " is being felt by one and all.
What is not known with certainity is whether it is a short period anomaly/ aberration or commencement of a long period change.
Geological records indicate such pulses in the past too before the entry of "man"in this arena.
Scientists are working to find the answer and its too early to vote for aberration or long period change.

It is real but it is NOT MAN-MADE. Science has actually proven that we are not the cause of global warming. 10,000 years ago the Ice Caps started melting at the rate at which it is now melting, all the way from Kansas. Mars Ice caps are also melting at a fast rate. And the water on Mars found in the rocks is proof that it once was covered in water, at least enough for surface water to form. People had to move from Machu Picchu because it was getting too warm. Entire civilizations started killing themselves because they didn't know why it was getting so warm.

^^^PROOF AGAINST MAN-MADE GLOBAL WARMING^^^
Read it Al Gore

So it has taken effect about 10,000 years ago.

It is real. There are some small effects now and they will grow with time, but they will never be exactly major in your lifetime. No death or destruction if that is what you mean. The biggest effect will probably be that the north pole may thaw completely in summer each year. This will probably be bad for polar bears, but it will be good for people. I predict cruise ships will take lots of people to the north pole in summer when that happens.

Its real, its already taking affect.

See if you can get hold of the Newsweek magazine from two weeks ago. The cover story was about global warming and the propaganda machine that tries to deny it.
