hey guys i have a question.
I would like to know how long it takes to obtain a permanent visa for America. I am 18 years old living in California and i really need to drive because of college and stuff.
if it helps, my mom took us to get our pictures taken and Medical files done at a clinic (shots, HIV tests etc...) about threee months ago.

Different countries get different treatment. If you are already in the process of getting your change of status having already been approved by the Dept of Justice or now a days the Dept. of Homeland Security to apply for the "green" card, on average from start to finish it takes 1 year.
If you are just starting the process, then that is a totally different story.

Different countries, different immigration/visa requirements.....go to Firstgov.gov and check with the Immigration and Naturalization Dept.
