I was raised by a Catholic mom. I was baptized in a Catholic church and I had my first communion in the church. But, I was never confirmed. So, have I ever officially been Catholic?

I don't think I explained myself well. In the eyes of the Catholic church, am I considered Catholic if I was not confirmed?

Then get Confirmed. It's not that hard.

Just ask yourself these questions.
Do you believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, the Creator of Heaven and Earth of all that is seen and unseen?
Do you believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father?
Do you believe he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried and descended into hell?
Do you believe on the third day he rose from the dead and ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father the Almighty from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead?
Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting?

If so, than you're Catholic.

Yes according to the Church you are considered Catholic as long as you are a practicing Catholic.

Yes, you are considered Catholic in the eyes the Church, unless you sent a letter saying you were excommunicating yourself from the Church or unless you actively renounced Catholicism by publicly joining a different church.

If you would like to be confirmed, there are free classes you can take (RCIA) that will teach you Catholic catechism and prepare you for Confirmation.

Yes, I am a training Catholic. I do think unhealthy while, at Christmas and Easter, all the ones "two times a yr" Catholics pop out - however then I become aware of that it would be worse. It would very good be feasible they do not pop out in any respect. It's convenient for anybody, who attends Church each week, to visit Mass on Christmas, Easter, and Holy Days of Obligation. I commonly marvel simply how a lot more complex it's for men and women, who do not attend Mass typically, to get out and move to Mass a couple of time in line with yr. We can not think it, on the grounds that we all know what we would be lacking. I do not consider those "two times a yr" varieties can absolutely recognize what it's they are lacking. If they did, they would be at Mass greater than two times a yr. I am proud to be Catholic, so it is all of the extra disappointing while I see men and women taking an "oh hum: angle toward their vocation as lay Catholics. All we will be able to relatively do approximately it's pray, and wish that they instance we set will, sooner or later, inspire them to begin dwelling the Catholic tradition all yr circular.

If you were baptized a Catholic officially you are a Catholic.....but in name only.

It has nothing to do with not being confirmed.

Yes you are a Catholic but you cannot avail of the sacraments until after you are confirmed. Attend an RCIA class so you know more about your religion. It is also a requirement for confirmation.

Do you believe in everything in the Nicene Creed? Do you believe in the Authority of the Church? Do you believe in and serve Jesus Christ?

If your answer to any of these questions is "no", then you are not a Catholic.
