I am afraid of suddenly loud thunderclaps.
I would hug my stuffed bunny til the stuffing came out during these storms. When I was dating, my girlfriend would hold me during these storms to comfort me. I can't find a girl down here in NC.
NASA just predicted that thunderstorms are going to intensify due to global warming. I wish I had a plush animal or a girlfriend to hug now.

Global warming has already led to an increase in the amount of rainfall (higher temps means more evapouration from the seas and oceans which subsequently falls as rain). Thunderstorms are just one of the many types of precipitation and warmer temps lead to more thunderstorms so yes, there will be an increase in the number of such events.

For all intents and purposes the thunderstorms will be the same as any other thunderstorm, the lightning and thunder will be just as loud and scary as usual.

Thunderclaps are nothing to be afraid of, they're caused by the stroke of lightning superheating the air around it so much that it expands faster than the speed of sound before contracting back in on itself. So all that a thunderclap is is the movement of air.

When a thunderstorm does strike just stay indoors, you'll be safe there and don't worry if your out in a car at the time, that's about the safest possible place you could be. Very few people actually get struck by lightning and those that do tend to be in wide open places such as golf courses or on exposed hillsides.

Really, there is very little you need to be scared of. It's just a flash of light and a loud bang and in almost every case it's harmless.

I'm sure you'll find a girlfriend to comfort you but in the meantime you could nip down to the store and get a big plush animal.

I am afraid so.
Since the more heat and faster updrifts cause stronger thunderstorms. They can lead to severe storms.
And Severe thunderstorms have more frequent lightning strikes.
When lightning strikes the ground close by, thunder is at it's loudest. Hail is another issue along with these increased strength thunderstorms. I bet a lot of hail will be produced damaging windows and cars.

There is no global warming, it's just a scare tactic to get your votes.
