I thought it'd be easier to swallow a vitamin pill if I cut it in half, so I did and took half a tablet. But the cut edge were all rough and it got stuck in my throat (not trachea, just somewhere in the throat area). I drank a lot of water and it eventually went down, but I'm wondering, if I had made any sudden movements or breathed hard when the pill was stuck, could I have choked on it?

Yes, but hopefully since you had swallowed it, it was in your esophagus, and not your windpipe (trachea). It would be a concern only if oxygen is blocked from entering, not if the pill is already in your esophagus on its way to the stomach--that is only uncomfortable, not necesarily lifethreatening

I personally haven't heard of such a thing. The pill would either be dislodged via coughing, vomiting or may dissolve.
Most medication is not made to break in halves etc., but if you do I suggest you have a drink before trying to swallow. This will lubricate your throat, as broken "dry" pills have rough edges.

Also 1/4 them instead of 1/2/. The really dangerous part is the possibility of it going into your lungs which would require a trip to O.P.D. However, even in this instance you would most likely live. * How ironic for someone to die swallowing a vitamin pill, yeah?

Not unless it was obstructing your throat. You should try next time eating a peice of bread directly after you take the pill

choking only happens when a foreign object goes into the trachea, as it was lodged in your esophagus, you were in no danger, just uncomfortable.
