Lara Helen gowns start at around $2900, I don't think you'd be able to rent one, but maybe keep checking Ebay and craigslist or put a wanted add on craigslist you maybe able to find one second hand.

Look on eBay. (I know there was a large second-hand wedding and prom store at the North Star Mall in San Antonio.) I'm sure there are others. Good luck!
