my house has digital cable. last year we had moles or something like that in the yard. making their annoying tunnels. and the side the cable is on is always wet. we think the sprinkler line is leaking. while watching tv sometimes it blinks out for a second, blinks out and then comes back with a fatter screen, or freezes then blinks out. should we contact comcast? should we check our sprinkler line? is the line getting to the cable? or did the animals get to it?

I would do both, maybe they can do something about the cable, it could be your line has been compromised.

Sounds like you need to call your cable company and have them run a new line to your house.
