well, windows actually have them ( windows media player for play music and video, and windows fax and *** viewer to view picture).
but if you want another software, i only know media player classic(to play music and videos), and irfanview to see picture

As has already been said, Windows does already have a program that's capable of doing what you seek. However, if you download video files you may come up across an instant where it will not play the video. This will be due to the video having been compressed using a different codec, or codecs.

To get around this, try downloading Videolan VLC Media Player. It's free, and comes with it's own in-built codecs. See the link below to obtain it. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow you to view static images, but you do have Paint if you have a Windows PC. (Click on Start, at the bottom left of your desktop, select All Programs > Accessories > Paint.)
