To answer the questions of future legal and illegal immigration, and what benefit does the US get by using illegal immigrants.
At one time the US had programs set-up whereby durning the different times of the year people from Mexico would come into the US to work. The work that they did to this day no one in the states is willing to do .Mr. Regan so fit durning his term of Governor of Calif to eliminate some of the programs, which controlled illegals come across the broader.
When you have trucks being driven from Mexico into the US shows our government is just alot of talk about the future of stopping illegal immigration. Look back on how people were getting into the US, those trucks are oversize buses that have more places for people to hid than ever before.
The Mexican people of all the people coming to the US are the hardest working people at what they do.

1) Time and cost.
A: Typical "safety" curve. The first 1% is cheap-to-free with the cost increasing till the last .001% is next to impossible. No prob for me. If 1% of 50 million want to thumb their well-hidden noses from under a manhole cover, fine.

2) Call in leads? Misleads?
A: I'd help any way I could and with a clear conscience, knowing that I'd also be willing to help in their transition in any way feasible.

3) Finding the invisible ones?
A: See 1) above. They'd be the least of my worries.

4) Racial profiling...helpful?
A: Not RACIAL. Lingual. If a Chechen is here legally and has been told to keep some form of ID handy but fails to, question him. They should all be treated with reasonable decency in the process. Lowering ourselves to their level (or what we perceive to be their level) serves no purpose.

5) Can persons improperly tagged sue?
A: Set up a special jurisdiction and special courts with dedicated laws for this. It's bound to happen and simply can NOT be lobbed onto existing dockets. Too messy.

6) Riots, war, possible?
A: Anything is possible including a return to cheap oil. Just not real likely. They should know they've already gotten a heck of a deal so far. Of course, communication to all involved is KEY!

7) Allow deportees a 2nd chance at citizenship?
A: See my Q: at:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Al6_cHw1023ICcZ4JGdIraza7BR.?qid=20070830180029AAI2NUp

8) Could we even stop all illegal entry?
A: No more than we could stop all bank-robberies. But we can increase the risks and decrease the rewards.

9) What will be the future of immigration?
A: Who knows? This whole place could blow up at dawn.

10) Why is it important to me?
A: Again, if there were only 3 or 4 ppl here illegally and their actions were innocuous, I'd remain ambivalent until their actions became less so.

As it is now, the central structure of everything we have, LAW, is at risk. The instant we realize we can no longer rely on law is the same moment this nation will quickly begin to crumble and the rest of the western world with it.
Schools? Out.
Stocks? What stocks?
Prisons? Bought.
Government? Anarchy will give way to jungle rule, then dictatorships...one after another after another.

11) Can punishments have ripple-effects?
A: They always do, whether good or bad. Our correctional facilities were the model for the world in the 19th century as they stressed "reform" over "punishment". Again, see my Win-Win idea:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Al6_cHw1023ICcZ4JGdIraza7BR.?qid=20070830180029AAI2NUp

12) Does US benefit from using illegals?
A: The real question is: Is the short-term benefit worth the impending collapse? No. We could easily get all the LEGAL temps we need within weeks. They could even agree to coming under a special auspices similar to an ambassador or diplomat; hence, no babies will be citizens.

13) Would I negotiate the punishments?
A: Not unless I'm voted or appointed to.

14) Who would care for the children these illegals leave behind?
A: Re-read the entire 14th Amendment and the senators' explanations in the Congressional Globe... and PLEASE respect that, since this is a representative government, we must NEVER ignore the legislative intentions of those we elect unless and UNTIL we, the people, demand it be retracted. We must respect that, even if the Court has chosen not to for the moment.

Senators debating the ratification of the 14th repeatedly insisted that the specific wording of the amendment was to EXCLUDE birthright citizenship to children born to aliens. And NONE ever said otherwise. The Court knows this and has referred to the Globe repeatedly.

According to the clearly stated intent of those elected to represent the people, there is NO law granting citizenship to children simply by dint of their accidental birth on US soil.

So who would take care of them? Their parents!!

15) Can persons accused of illegal entry get a trial and a lawyer?
A: Depends on how the Congress handles this debacle. The best thing is a retinal scan and finger-print scans referenced to an ID card. Without a secure ID system, we're skewered.

After that, I need a nap.

That's like 75 questions rolled into one.... Saving points much?

I believe someone posted that it would take over 100 years to deport everyone here (or something- there was an actual calculation).

Punishment should be dependant upon how long they were here and if they did use other ss# or TINS.

Racial profiling is bound to end in a lawsuit.

I don't think "civil war" will happen. MOST people (go to work tomorrow and ask) don't see this is the TOP issue- atleast in the midwest.

There is no way to stop it entirely- but, it cold be great slowed down.

The US benefits from using undocumented, but, there is also a cost.

The children are the gut of the issue to me. We are already short on foster homes, and, citizen children can't just be "auctioned off" to the highest bidder.

* A star for you for helping people understand that it isn't as simple as "ship 'em out, and, everything is better tomorrow". Complex issue with effects seen throughout society.

You certainly ask a lot of questions!
Really the solution is plain and simple, we don't need to deport them as it would not be cost wise, we shouldn't put them in jail because it's our tax dollars plus then what do you do with them,
yes we could build a wall, but a wall can be gotten around if your desperate. I've heard some people say kill them, thats crazy- the majority of Americans were once illegal immigrants- think about it- we were trespassing on the Indian's homeland and killing them. So my idea- and obviously no one else's, is to "kill 2 birds with one stone" I say
America stop importing so much from China and invest in South America- a plus would be that it would cost less to ship items here and then there would be jobs down there so the Latinos wouldn't starve and us fat Americans could live happliy ever after. ~The End~

Illegal aliens should all be treated with the same respect that all citizens and legal immgirants are treated with.
Illegal aliens should be punished exactly how the US law says is the punishment for violation of immigration law - that punishment is deportation, and forfeiture of all their property, including cars, homes, furniture, big screen tvs, tools etc....

Yes, I would call ICE and give tips, I do that right now.
Calling ICE to give fake leads will land you in jail, that is a crime, and they will find you.

All illegal aliens leave a paper trail, you may think they don't but they do. They enroll kids in school, go in to emergency rooms for medical care, they sign rental reciepts and lease agreements, they apply for and carry matricular cards (thank you Mexico for documenting the criminals for us), they take out loans, they do a whole lot of little things every day which leaves a paper trail.
It is no problem finding the ones who get in trouble with the law, they are in jail.

I'm not going go down your entire list, it is preposterous to expect anyone to, ask your questions separately.

As to those who think illegal aliens cannot possible be all deported. That is ridiculous.

First cut off all freebie, give away programs to illegals, including HUD, WIC etc.....
Cut off all jobs, put them out of work. Shut down all day labor pick up sites and arrest any illegal alien who stands on a street corner or freeway entrance for soliciting.
Report all illegal aliens who try to get any kind of aid, welfare, social services, medical care, or enroll their children in school.
Punish landlords who rent to them under the harboring law. a felony.
Punish all employers who hire them.
Do not allow them on public transportation under the transporting an illegal alien law. another felony.

No ITINs for illegal aliens, follow the paper trail to get any illegals who have them.
Use the matricular cards to track as many of those down you can get.
Run a national check on all social security numbers, any illegal aliens using them are committing felonies.
Deport all illegal aliens who are in jails and prisons, and all who are stopped by police for any reason.

Make it hard for them to live here illegally, no job, can't get social services, no transportation, no place to live, no medical care etc.... Millions of illegal aliens will leave if we make it hard enough, by enforcing the laws as they should be enforced.

Any others, no problem. ICE can simultaneously arrest in 50 states every day. 200 a day is low, that is 200 a day from 50 states, that makes 10,000 a day in custody for deportation, 365 days in a year makes 3,650.000 gone in one year.
See how easy that is?

With millions leaving on their own dime because they can't function here illegally, and one year deporting 3,650,000, more will leave because they do not want to get caught.
It wouldn't take more than a couple of years to get them all out.

The problem is keeping them out, we need border security.
Once they are all gone, every single last one, then and only then do we even think about bringing anyone in here for work. And that is only after every American citizen who wants a job or needs a jobs is given a job.

I believe they should be held for 1 year in jail and during that year, they learn about America. After the year is up, they choose on getting deported or becoming a citizen.

Personally, I'd like a law passed so that NO illegal immigrant ever can become a legal US citizen. That doesn't mean they can't become legal to work here, just that they lose ALL chance of becoming citizens, and have no rights therein. If they wish to leave anonymously, and then re-apply from Mexico, Guatamala, Honduras, etc, fine. But if caught here, and documented to be illegal, then NO ( I mean 100% ) chance of ever being a citizen. Period. If they can live with that risk, so can I.
Call me - Tired of Mexico's hypocrites, who have more stringent immigration laws INTO Mexico than we do into US.
