I'd go for Windows Media player (mp3, short clips), Winamp (internet radio, internet tv, lot's of mp3, ogg, mp4) and VLC (movies, avi). There is a problem with flv's that require a special player and 3gp, 3gpp...that require QuickTime. I had a Quicktime altenative....it was a lighter version of QuickTime.
