On my credit bureaus. I was very sick after my wife and I bought our house, eventually leading to a leg amputation. All of my other companies have removed them from my reports except for First Franklin mortgage. They said that I was legitimately late and they refused to remove them from my bureaus. I was late one month when I was sick and it took 8 months to catch it up. Is there anything that I can do to get them removed? Calling them did no good. How bad is this gonna hurt me in the future?

I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty to email you a sample goodwill letter template.

If you decide to use it, don't just send it to the banks address without addressing it to a higher up. If you don't address it to a higher up, it will just end up in the hands of a regular CSR who may just ignore it or refuse the request.

Like I mentioned in my email, you might go to the BBB and look up the names of who you might send it to.
You might also Google the bank and look for more people in higher positions (even the president of the bank) and send a copy to each and every one of them.

It will clear itself up over time. It won't take long if you make sure you make all your payments on time starting now. Make sure you have documentation of your illness, bills, and all that ensued as a result. Some credit lenders accept things like that, if you can give a legitimate explanation that suits them.

I've been there, but the only difference is I wasn't paying a mortgage. But I was a single mom.

Once you make good on your accounts for a while, your credit will improve a lot.

Three sites below tell you how to fix your credit yourself and explain the letter that I mentioned.

I hope things are finally looking up for you.

Since they are reporting true facts, the law and "proper procedure" is in their corner. You can write the mercy letter / Customer Good Will letter suggested by another person.
Your next best move is to place a 100 word statement in your credit report explaining why you were late 8 times.
Time will heal the credit report otherwise. Just keep paying on time and avoid new debt as much as possible.

Good Luck.

The mortgage company is the boss.

That really sucks...

A company like that should understand that rainy days do happen - contact their human resources dept. Otherwise, make a complaint.
