I NEVER would- probably a puppymill, best case scenario- backyard breeder- I would NEVER give money to these people to support the torture of animals and their use as breeding machines.

I would drive upto 500miles to find a good breeder, or (what I actually did)-adopt from a local shelter.

It really depends on the breeders. Some are just really crappy breeders selling poorly bred dogs. But, there are good breeders on this website. My mom actually purchased 2 Pomeranian puppies from this website. The female is a show prospect and the male she purchased is just going to be a pet. This breeder had her own website with her litter's dam and sire. You know you're dealing with a good breeder if they want to speak with you on the phone and ask you all kinds of questions. The breeder my mom got hers from mailed us her health contracts and puppy guarantees. My mom had to sign them and everything before the woman would send the puppies out. Both of her puppies are very heatlhy and like I said the female is going to be shown. But, buyer beware. There are major scammers on this website too. NEVER wire a breeder money, thats a huge scam going on. Only use paypal or money orders that are traceable. Also, if you are interested in a puppy, have the breeder take a current picture with something in the background that you request. For instance, a piece of paper with your name on it in the background. That way you know for sure that the breeder is in possesion of that puppy. Some scammers will copy and paste other breeders pictures and advertise them as their own. Just be very very careful, but it is possible to get a high quality dog from a good breeder from this site. Don't rush into anything and have lots of contact and questions with the prospective seller. Any other questions, email me. My mom had a great experience with this website.

There are reputable breeders online but there are far more mills and BYB's than reputable ones. I would most certainly stay away from a site called 'next day pets'!!!! This isn't a set of pots and pans a person would be buying! You need to check the breeder that you may be dealing with to buy a dog. Get references, follow up on the references. Ask to see their contract. Make a list of questions and ask them!

I certainly wouldn't trust any breeder who would agree to sell his or her dogs online to anyone he or had not personally met. A good breeder will always ask a prospective buyer a TON of good questions, and will want to know how you plan to care for the dog. Anyone who would sell you a dog without knowing a thing about you is NOT interested in the dog's welfare, and cares ONLY about cashing that check you were about to write. There are plenty of good sources for acquiring a dog, but I (personally) wouldn't buy one online.

I do not personally trust ANY online advertisements, especially if I am planning on purchasing something, such as a pet or living creature.

You do not know what you will get.

I suggest you check with AKC or UKC, and dog clubs of the particular breed you are looking at to see if they are a reputable breeder or if they are known as a puppy mill or poor breeder.

good luck

No, nope, no way, not at all....... I want to see the breeder, see the dogs, see how the dogs live, see if they have tons of pups or not. And I'd drive to get there if I had to. About the only way I'd even consider it was if they had a referral from a breeder I trusted or a local dog club for that breed. Someone who actually knew them.

Definitely not. Buying pets over the Internet is a bad way to go. You want to see the parents (or at least the mom), the litter, the puppy itself and the breeder's facility before you buy. And shipping is very hard on young animals and generally not recommended.

I got my dog from a breeder on puppyfind.com and he is the best dog I have ever had. I was able to email the breeder and get their info and they allowed me to write them or call them any time I had any questions. They also invited me to come see their house and the puppies parents. When they found out I was out of state they emailed me pictures of their home and their family with the puppies and where the puppies stay and everything you could imagine. I actually still keep in contact with them. They even asked me a lot of questions to make sure he was going to a good home. Any good breeder should be very open about everything and if they seem annoyed by questions then go find someone else, because if they aren't doing anything wrong then they shouldn't have anything to hide. Also, stay away from breeders who have lots of puppies for sale this is probably people who just do it for a living a don't care about the quality and welfare of the pets. You can find a good dog online just be sure to really check them out.

Why would you want to do that. I'd rather see the dog myself and accually look at it then buying it online and the next day finally pick it up. It shouldn't be like that. But hey, that is just my opinion.

Would you pay a super high price for a pet bred by a BYB that you have never met?????
These are ALL overpriced CRAP!!!! No real breeder would need to advertise and sell pup like that and would never sell to any idiot with a valid credit card!!!!
You can get a better deal on a BYB pup out of your local paper. At least you can see where the pup comes from!
