My daughter has braces on now, no insurance, making payments on the hefty $5000 here in the midwest. Ug.

Mine costed $2500 and we didn't have insurance. It varies, a lot, though, depending on where you go to get them done. anywhere from about $2000 to about $6000, depending on your orthodontist and how long you have to wear them.
