I was just talking to my husband about this. They are starting to hand out bigger bonuses. I think the biggest bonus is 60 tho...but I'm pretty sure its in avionics so you would probably be deployed. I think some admin guys are getting bonuses. My friends fiancee just got ten thousand for re-enlisting and he is in admin..he was a PFC I think...or maybe a Lance Corporal. Not very many jobs are non-deployable and they are hard to get...but you already know this. You should definitely talk to a recruiter about this though...even though some of them can be deceptive. Is there anybody you know that is still in that you can ask? Also, if you explain your situation to your recruiter as to why you can't deploy, if it is a medical reason, you may just be stationed at home and be given recruiting duty. Or he may go out of his way to make sure you are put in a non-deployable unit. If he isn't a D-Bag he will try to help you out with that at least.

Below are some sites that may be able to help you out...I just did a yahoo search...and I'm not as dedicated as some other marine corps wives so I don't know about all of the mumbo jumbo....I don't want to give you one web site and have it end up useless. You should also search on http://www.military.com. Sorry I can't help out more. Good luck and congrats on your new family!

Going back in, no matter the branch, there is no way you can avoid deploying if your unit is due. If there are health or family issues that would render that impossible, they simply won't allow you to enlist again...period. You have been active duty already, so you know deployments are part of military life. To expect any exceptions or exclusions isn't reasonable. That being said, the Air Force may offer you the best opportunity for minimal deployments and a far more stable home (and far better family support services) than the Marines. I do not say this to insult the other branches, but it is true that the Air Force is more family friendly, tends to have more services and often better housing. As for signing bounuses, the best at the moment seems to be the Army. Again, many factors will come into play...what rank, job, deployment issues, etc. The best thing to do is talk to recruiters from each branch and see what they have to offer. But again, enlisting again will mean being a true, fully active duty member of the military...and all that goes with it. Be sure this is really what you and your wife want and are willing to sacrifice for it.

Depending on your rate you can get nice bonuses in the Navy.
I agree, civilian life sucks, no pride or false pride, no respect, getting the job done fast is more important than right. Save a buck.
Ever notice how many professional this and that the civilians have. Who certifies them?
Every wonder how they make it preying on each other daily.
As far as you cant deploy? humm
They used to give us only a year to re up to keep rank. Look fast.

I don't know anything about bonuses, but is there a special case with your family (ie handicapped, financial, health issues)? If that's the case you can indeed go to any garrison/job without being deployed, you just have to state so with your "readiness" personnel. At least that's how it works in the air force, but I would try to reach out to a Marine who could give you more service-specific advise. Good luck!

Ask a recruiter about being an ACTIVE RESERVIST - many non-deployable positions I was told in my transition class... It's you on Active duty - but in a non-deployable setting, of course not much in choices for where to go, but if you don't mind moving 'to where the money is' then I'd suggest looking into.

I wouldn't count on any bonuses, but definitely gets you back into the nice pay and benefits of being married I'm sure you miss.

I met a guy in Yuma AZ that did his active and then went active reserve and is doing some supply job on base and has a part time job doing something else - he said he loves it!

hope this helps

Try and contact Defence civilian employment recruiter.

Any other place will be not good, under the present condition can be deployed overseas in war (combat) zone any time.

A non deployed marine? Sounds like a oxymoron. Best shot? DI school and then Stay at the Island or San Deigo & train boots.

Bro, you really should go see a recruiter, there your best bet for bonus information. Unfortunately having a non-deployable status is not realistic, keep in mind the current world situation we are in.

EVERYONE DEPLOYS. EVERYONE. Period. if you are unwilling to deploy, then don't bother trying to re enlist.

Additionally, Navy doesn't give much in the way of bonuses, and AF is NOT taking any PS at all.

"non-deployable"?
Why do you think you are better than any of the rest of us in uniform?
If Uncle Sam needs you, you go. If that is a burden, stay in NJ.
