This comes from the Superfoods cook your way to health by Jyl Steinback.
Superfood:
Superfoods, functional foods and nutraceuticals are common foods with an abundance of vitamins, protein, minerals, enzymes, and special trace elements; they not only provide basic nourishments, but also enhance your body's disease-fighting capabilities. Functional foods provide health benefits that are "best realized from a wide variety of food rather than supplements." SuperFoods are the most natural way to supply your body with all it needs for peak performance, vitality, and health.
Best Superfoods:
Apples, Beans, Blueberries, Bread (whole-wheat) , Broccoli
dried fruits , Flaxseed, garlic, ginger, grapes, kiwifruit,
mangoes, Nuts, oats, oranges, potatoes , seeds/sprouts
soy, spinach, sweet peppers, tomatoes, WATER, yogurt
A smoothie with some flaxseed, blueberries a handful of walnuts and a banana and some soy milk and orange juice is a great way to get some calcium.

Super foods are whole, unprocessed foods high in fiber, vitamins, phytochemicals, etc.
The list varies a bit depending on the source but generally include:
colorful fruits & veggies (broccoli, cabbage, tomatoes, carrots & blueberries, watermelon, oranges)
nuts like walnuts & almonds
fish rich in Omega-3 fats, ex) wild salmon
green tea
