I am a Unitarian Universalist, And the sign out front says "all are welcome".

And my pastor is an effiminate celibate man so you two would get along fine.

My church has a paid employee who's about as macho as Quentin Crisp, and nobody says much of anything about it. He's definitely part of our church family. He's there for almost every service, and we have a lot of services. He's not celibate (he's actually straight and has a wife), but if he were, so what? It's not our business. He's profoundly effeminate, but he contributes greatly to the church services and has been there for many years. If he were to ever leave, he would be greatly missed.

My church doesn't discriminate against effeminate men. And that's a good thing, because we've definitely got some in our parish. But how would we know they're celibate unless they went screaming it up and down the aisles? We don't care if they're celibate. It's irrelevant.

Technically celibate simply means that he refrains from marriage. I think you are referring to chastity. And such a man should be welcomed and fellowshipped. If the church doesn't freak out over his 'besetting sin' then as he grows in the Lord, the Lord will make him whole.

I live in Ohio, the rest is sadly self explanatory... There are exceptions within the church but the majority are overwhelmingly judgmental.

Edit: No reality check needed, I got smacked in the head with it enough the last couple weeks.

My church doesn't have the habit of asking people what their business is before they can sit in church.

We are there to worship God and learn His word. Everyone is welcome through our doors.

My church would welcome him with open arms. Heck we even welcome the effeminate non-celibate Christian man.
