stopped to thank a Veteran.
Please take time if you see one out, walk up and shake their hand and say thanks. At least they know people still care, and remember what they did. Take a little time and talk to our vets, it is amazing the stories they can tell. Ones that you may never read in a book or see in a movie. But get it from someone who was their, and pass that down to your kids.

At every opportunity I get. Also, because I am of Korean descent, the Korean veterans, especially, have a HUGE place in my heart for, without them, I wouldn't be fortunate enough to be a citizen of this great country. Also, Koreans today wouldn't enjoy the prosperity or freedom that their Northern counterparts don't.

My father-in-law is a WW II veteran (ran away from home at the tender age of 16, faked his birth date, and joined the Navy). What he saw during that war would give most people nightmares for the rest of their lives. Truly, all vets should be given their due respect for their sacrifice and bravery. A simple, "Thank you" is a great start.

First off, this is great!! I am so glad there are others that let veterans know how important they are to us!!

My grandfather is a WW2 veteran, so I was taught by my parents at a young age to be respectful and grateful to these men who have served our country. I often thank total strangers. lol But one story this reminds me of...
One day I had to take my grandpa to the VA hospital for an appointment. While I was waiting in the waiting room I saw an older man sitting reading his magazine with he WW2 vet hat on. So, I started thinking of ways that I could really get through to this man that I was truly thankful to him. I went up to him and asked if he had served, he said yes. I said "Thank you so much for all you have done for me to live here today." ( I know, I am so corny!! lol )He smiled and said "Your very welcome, people like you are the reason I did it." I then asked him for his autograph. He laughed and said "mine"? He said he wasn't famous. I said you are to me and I told him I would rather have his autograph over any actors any day! He signed a piece of paper I had in my purse and then told me how I made his day!!! I still have his autograph tucked away in my photo album. I think its great that people let the veterans know how much we appreciate them!!

That would have been maybe a month ago. I met a Vietnam vet in a pub I went into. He'd had a couple too many and told me some horrific stories with tears streaming down his face. I just held his hand and let him cry. So sad.

hi, we have parades every year to honor our veterans.
whether they are from w.w.1 or w.w.2, or 'nam, or korea, of the gulf war, or iraq or the falkland islands, or any one of the many many wars we seem to bring upon ourselves.
there isn't a day goes by that i don't think of the men and women who have fought for our country, who have fought for freedom in other countries and who have given the ultimate sacrifice, their lives in an effort to keep all of us free.
and i honor their families, for supporting them, for letting them go, for loving them and giving them something to come home for.
so when was the last time? this morning, every morning, and i will continue to do so!
POWs-MIAs-ALL OF THEM-WE WILL NEVER FORGET!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

and for all the protesters who put the military down, who protest against anything and everything, who call our uniformed angels all manner of names - they should remember if it weren't for the very people they are marching against, they wouldn't have the freedom to march in the first place.

The last time I thanked a veteran was yesterday. The veteran in question is my father. I thank him ever day, hug him and tell him I love him. Of course, I'm not so affectionate with other veterans, but I do appreciate them and what they've done.

Every chance I get. Some died in vain for our country, and we would never know what happened to them. I thank them for all they did for our people :)
