I didnt want an updo. Instead I had it half up and soft curls. My hair is past my shoulders. I added some nice hair jewelry to my hair. ( shiney flowers that matched my dress) I loved it and got alot of compliments. I did have an outdoor, evening wedding, so depends on when and where, and type of wedding.

How you have your hair on your wedding day depends on what sort of wedding you are having. Mine is going to be more formal than casual so I am having an elegant up-do. Just a side part and slicked across one side of my face and a nice low bun at the back. It will be elegant and suit my dress. Dont forget to think about that when you decide on your hair do. If you are having a casual beach wedding or something, loose curls are nice, for garden weddings, up-dos and half up half down is nice and for a formal wedding an up-do is a good option. If you are having a dress wit lots of detail then have simpler hair. You don't want a 'busy' dress and 'busy' hair as that will too much to take it and be too overwhelming. If you have a simpler dress, then have more detail in your hair and vice versa. Good luck!

Personally I think the bride should look like herself, only better, not like a totally different person. So the hairstyle should fit her personality. Up or down both can be beautiful.

I think its prettier to wear updos on your wedding day than wearing your hair down
