lptop has: DVD-Super Multi DL. ..?

Question

what disc needed to burn, record, play, copy photos and music on? there are so many of them....confusing!!!!

This drive can burn:

CDR (700MB - about 10c - compatible w/ all computers)
CD/RW (not compatible w/ many other devices)
DVD+R (4.7GB - about 50c - compatible w/ most devices)
DVD-R (4.7GB - about 50c - compatible w/ most devices)
DVD-DL (8+GB, very expensive)

I prefer CDR when I don't need a lot of space and I am giving the disc away. Prefer DVD+R when storing a lot for myself or making videos to play on the DVD player.
