and how many calories does that particular exercise burn?

(i'm 13 so nothing rude please. seriously)

you can go jog, you can do some crunches, you can dance around your house. DO you have any animals? Play with them, all of these activities burns alot of calories especially jogging. But if your 13 why would you want to burn calories? You still have growing to do. Just eat right and alot of water

You should ask boxers this question ! They will tell you that plain ordinary skipping with a child's` skipping rope, is one of the best calorie burning exercises. I am sorry, but I can`t remember the exact number of calories it burns up in an hour, but it is far more than just jumping or running, because you are using several sets of muscles doing this exercising.
P.S. You probably won`t like the suggestion, but you could also help to do some house work, that really burns up the calories! Good luck and keep fit, you will never regret it.

I'm assuming you are overweight and need to slim up for health reasons?

Persistent cardiovascular (cardio) exercise is what is going to get rid of fat, not resistance training (weights), for the most part anyway. Stationary bike, treadmill, etc. to reach your target heart rate, and doing it for at least 15-18 minutes just to get into the "realm" of fat burning is absolutely necessary. Another 15-45 minutes and you have burned significant calories. Start with a total of 20-30 minutes and then slowly work your way up to 45 minutes or more.

no need to run up and down the stairs get 2 tins of peas? out of the cubboard go to the stairs and step up with the left leg fetch the right up then then step off and alternate use the tins as dumbells but if u are thinking of getting a machine then a strider will be the best as it burns more Cal's off

i know it's probably not want u want to hear but like u said ur 13 so why r u not out wiv ur mates at the park burning calories or shopping and burning a hole in ur parents pockets. u've got enough stress at ur age without worrying about silly calories.take care.x

listen. your 13 dont do the stairs running because it kills the legs. i suggest you do dancing or swimming but thats not in the home unless you have a pool. try to get out more with mates walk at leats 2hrs a day gradually making the time long it should build your stamina and lose alot of calories.

well u can do running up your stairs 20 times a day plus situps if you want nothing over the top...or go swimming thats brilliant for girls bodys
