Let's assume for a minute there's a God.
Why can't He lie?
Let's just put His assumed qualities aside for a moment for, He just could have made it all up, all part of His secret evil scheme. Along with the Bible and other ways to get to men.
Can you answer without resourcing to your Bible or to your personal experiences, since all of this could just be part of His charade, His farse? Remeber His own son's performance could also be part of His act.

If God created everything, what would "he" need to lie about, and to whom is he going to lie?

I think you watch too much tv, or read too many comic books.

Here is something which is neither a personal experiance or has anything to do with the Bible. Much used answer. Propaganda used by people creates imaginary problems. People deceive themselves nothing else required. Think of a great evil then then write a fantasy story about it say it is about a force from outer space that turns people against eachother and this evil burns people in armored tanks, shoots them, takes more of them up to Pluto and burns them in fortified places there this does not makethe story true ormean anyone has any intention of doin this or that God lied or had anything to do with it. What could happen instead is that any future evil that could be thought up could remain just a story. Could take many legends of Earth combined with police and police organisations and have them combat this menace on paper. Could write something to the effect that scrolls of hate invaded the minds of people and that to hate in such a manner is wrong but this would not stop someoneat a much later date from saying the person who wrote this wanted the person to hate .

ASSUMING He was the first BEING....He would have NO reason to lie, that's why.
The Bible was written by men, about men, for men...and should be asterisked *based on a true story.
Jesus, no matter what faith you are, was a great man. And, unfortunately, one that would be laughed at, today. He believed in something, which is NEVER bad.
I don't think you can logically use "God" and "evil" in the same question, lol.

OK, if you eliminate all references to the Bible... yah, maybe. But why would He want to do that?? Couldn't he just turn us into robots?

Obviously we aren't robots, or anything drastic like that. The only thing here is God's lying... but as said before, why would He want to do that when he could use something easier?

It'd be easier and more rational to assume that there is no secret evil scheme.

*edit* Kid Next Door, when I said "robots" I was talking about people who lack free will and only do what they are programmed to do... not necessarily shiny metal robots.
And as long as we're nitpicking here... my name is ATWolf, with only one "T."

Because what ever God says, IS, therefore it can not be a lie. If God said the grass is blue then it would turn blue, if he said the sky was green then it would turn green.

Isaiah 55:10-11
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from the heavens, and does not return there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring out and bud, and give seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so shall My Word be, which goes out of My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall certainly do what I sent it to do.

And y cant the Bible and every thing about Him b true and fact?

He can not lie because He is very very holy. But He is holiness itself. Thats y when Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying Him , God let them out of Eden. Because they became unholy , and He is very holy that He can not even see or deal with sinner human beings.

Good luck!

If God's such a great actor then what exactly is it that makes you suspect it's all an act? And what's his motivation for this grand scheme? lol.

Mythical creatures can't lie.

What you're proposing is a deceitful god... if it existed all bets would be off as you wouldn't get the truth from it. Strangely, this is similar to gods that have a creation story as the story invariably contradicts the facts.

If God lied, the lie would become the truth.

Imagine the following dialogue.

A: Were dinosaurs a lie?

B: Well, their bones are in the earth.

A: Maybe God put them there to deceive us.

B: Doesn't that mean He created dinosaurs, so dinosaurs were real?

A: I guess it does.

Whatever God speaks automatically comes to pass, kid.

If God spoke today and said that red is blue, everything that is red would immediately turn blue.

God is wonderful like that!

DO YOU KNOW GOD? ARE YOU SAVED?

Num 23:19 God [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do [it]? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
