Respect is given to those who behave in a respectful manner. And those people demand nothing...hence, Jesus had a meek and quiet spirit. People who do not respect those who behave respectfully, have no self respect and therefore cannot ever respect another.

Perhaps if they gave it, it would return. What goes around, comes around. Respect has to start with each and every individual. You can not demand it, you can only earn it.

Demanding respect? That's for dictators and fascists. Most folks like to have their respect earned.

"Respect" is another one of these vain earthly things related to personal power and worldliness. It's a typically American mindset though. Strange thing is though, the less you seek it, and just live according to your principles, eventually the more respect you will get. Sometimes you may not get it until after you are dead ("You know, that guy was one h*** of a guy, wished I would have told him that while he was alive", that sort of thing)

You earn respect! You can't demand something you've done nothing to merit what you ask for.

Respect on demand is no respect at all.
You probably just want a little "courtesy"

Prosecuted? Only when they get caught breaking the law. (And even then, only some of the time).
