Jazz or Blues?

They are distinct, albeit, related forms.

Barring big band, much Jazz is instrumental.

Try Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five, Jimmy Dorsey, Charles Mingus, Dave Brubeck......

Blues is largely vocal music because it is comes from traveling storytellers in west Africa, and because it is an emotive expression of the human condition. Most major bluesmen have a few instrumentals in their repertoire, but I would avoid most strictly instrumental acts/recordings. It's like mastubation - not bad, but nothing like the real thing.

GOOD LUCK :)

All good Jazz is without voice. Vocalists are usually just attention seekers in this genre.

For instrumental blues you have to look for individual tracks. Everyone from Lonnie Johnson and Blind Blake to Buddy Guy and SRV have all done at least one or two instrumental tracks
