This is what Paul writes to the Church at Thessalonica:
1Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. 2For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.
3It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, 5not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; 6and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. 7For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. 8Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

Not in the way you may think. In Judaism and now in Christianity, there are two 'stages' to getting married ... the 'Engagement' and the 'marriage.' That 'betrothal' period is the time to 'get to know one another fully' ... and that INCLUDES having sex ... the 'wedding' is the 'celebration' of the fact that these two people now 'know each other well enough' to want to 'live together all the time.' Somehow that got 'twisted' to mean that you must be 'married' to have sex, but in the 'old days' that 'marriage' actually started with the 'betrothal' ... and the 'wedding' was just the 'celebration' of them 'moving in toghether' ...

Yes it is. It is a mandate by God. Once sexual relations occurs the two become one. So would you want to unite with just anyone? Especially if you begin to think and act like that person.

yes “Flee from fornication.” (1Â Corinthians 6:18) Note that he went further than simply saying, “Avoid fornication.” Christians should do more. They should run away from such immoral acts, just as they would run from a life-threatening danger. If we ignore that counsel, we increase the likelihood of becoming involved in serious immorality and losing God’s favor.
Jehovah God gives us free will to obey him, therefore if we value our relationship God then we will do all we can to maintain it. God created us so he knows what is best for us. think about it, if the majority of people follow that bible counsel, don't you believe that there will be a dramatic decrease in diseases, unwanted pregnancies, divorces, etc. Sure we are still imperfect humans and we all sin and fall short of the glory of God, but if we try our best to serve him with a sincere heart then he will hear our prayers for help to fight off urges against committing such a sin, and if we do fall in to sin, if we as a true christian sincerely (not deliberately) repent and ask for forgiveness then it will be given. What a loving God!

God tells us in the Bible that sexual relations were meant for the marriage bed. He did not just instruct this to gives us rules and regulations. To be able to control one more aspect of what we do. He commanded this for our benefit! Sex saved for marraige and in marriage is AWESOME!!! God inteded for sex to be guilt free and wonderful. In the marriage where two have saved themselves for eachother there are no feelings of inadequacy due to someone your spouse has been with previously or anything like that.
If you read in the Bible in many places over and over again throughout Scripture it is said to not have sex outside marriage.

Yeah, but keep in mind this rule went into effect when people go married at like 12 years old, so basically you had to wait like a week after hitting puperty.
