I have a brain in my head, if you have a mere lump of flesh, that would explain a lot.

Brain tissue is not exactly what I think of when I think of meat. Flesh from muscles qualifies more in that area. The brain (of a human or of another creature) is a pretty amazing thing. It is not fully understood but science is learning more about it all the time.
Also, the brain is nothing without the body. The camera recorder you are looking for is the eyes. They see the images and the brain interprets and stores them. Well, from what I have read, the brain does not really store the images. It instead stores the capability to recreate the images.
You should take a course in biology and spend some time talking to the teacher about the central nervous system. There is a lot of complexity there. You would do better from learning in a class.

No, not even close. The brain is a collection of neurons and nerve tissue. Similar to a computer if there is no power for it it appears to be non functional but while powered you can see the activity in various parts relating to thought. Currently, primative thought sensing devices are being developed that will respond to a given thought pattern and conrtol a train -- not ground shaking yet, but still an advance in the right direction.

Yep, this is one of the top 4 questions known to man.
1.) Why is there something rather than nothing?
2.) How does matter create consciousness?
3.)How did life begin?
4.) How did George W. Bush get elected president?

Because the God we serve is an awesome GOD and he along know the stars by name. In Deuteronomy 29:29, it says, " The secret things belong to the Lord our GOD, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever; that we may do all the words of this Law." We are not to know everything. GOD allows us to gain wisdom but he will only allow us to know so much. Remember the Tower of Babel. And In the Book of Daniel Chapts. 7, 8, & 9, along with other books in the Bible, GOD reveals the prophecy of when the end is near, (which is closer then we all may realize) but not every one who reads it will understand it all. I don't think of your words as grotesque, just think how the man with boils and sores all over his body must have looked, but JESUS Healed him. He touched and healed many people that followed him around for days that have not taken any baths, or had toothpaste, or deodorant. God says the most important commandment is to LOVE. He did not say pick and choose who to love. "For what reward is there for loving some one who loves you?" Where's the challenge in that?

It act. works the same way as a computer harddrive, you will be surprised at the comparison bet. life and a simple computer. Your memories are chemical-electronic impulses combined with tissue to create a complex phenomenon which is your brain. When you have electricity combined with chemicals and tissue, you get a complex harddrive.

Slice up a computer and what do you see? Wiring and circuit boards? You don't see images or text or hear sounds or observe the ability to process information at unbelievable speed - just copper, silicon, etc.
I'm sorry . . . what was your question? My hamburger's cache is too full and I'm thinking slowly at the moment.

Do you mean "skull"?
And you miss the beauty of the "meat" when all you see is flesh.
You need to look closer, at the neurons, the entire circuitry of the brain in order to understand the complexity and beauty of it.

That meat is the most complex object in the known universe. What makes it think is only imperfectly understood, but the fact that it *does* think is not in dispute - you only have to study the multitude of mental defects which arise in brain-damaged people, to see that.
