None. I disagree with David. I dont have faith that my chair wont break, I dont have faith that my car will work. I have EXPERIENCES such as, whenever I sit in a chair, it doesnt break, and whenever I put my foot on the gas pedal in the past, my car has moved forward. THese arent things we take as faith - they are things that we experience on a daily basis, and form our "beliefs" around that experience.

Do you have faith that when you bend over, your pants wont split up the middle? No - youve bent over many times and your pants never split. Its safe to assume they will continue not to split, without the need for faith.

D-Bo - I suppose you have faith then in Santa and the tooth fairy, right? Cuz you cant prove they dont exist either. But does that require faith to deny them? No. So why does it require faith to deny god?

Fundamentalists butcher science each day. If "crocoduck" is science, I'm the Virgin Mary.

Atheism, meanwhile, is a religious position. In practice, it usually amounts to destructive criticism of religious beliefs. So, I suppose you could say we "make use" of religion the way fire makes use of wood.

I use it as a reference to slam fundamentalists.

Atheists use religion every time they read these questions and answer them. They are searching for something whether or not they want to admit it.

I don't make use of religion. I think religion has outlived its usefulness in my life and society in general.

So what, should we charge them for using technology and gravity?

Anyway, I get to take off on Christmas, so I'm OK with them having benefited from evolution.

As much as they hate to admit it, atheism is a religion. They believe that God does not exist They can't prove this belief. Therefore, they are using faith. It would be different if they said "I have no belief one way or the other." or "I don't know if God exists or not."

They use faith. Faith that when they sit in a chair, it won't break. Faith that when they hit the gas peddle the car will move. Faith that when they go to sleep at night, the morning will come.

They trust in their science. Trust is faith. Well, who do you think is the most awesome and incredible (I might add) scientist? The living God.

...and people have said that atheists don't have faith...
