Roughly 8 - 8 oz. glasses of water daily.
The main thing is to drink enough so your urine is pale yellow or "clear enough to read through".

You need about a half gallon of water a day, depending on the activity in your life.
Drinking milk, Pepsi, coffee, or tea or eating watermelon counts towards that half gallon.
You need that half-gallon running through your kidneys to keep them operating optimally. If you are sweating a lot, you need extra water, because sweat isn't going through your kidneys. Once a month, you lose fluid another way, and you'll need to replace that fluid as well. If you consume salty foods, you will need extra water to flush that salt away.
You can drink *more* water, and you'll be OK, because your kidneys have a fairly wide operating range. If you're drinking more than a gallon a day, though, you may be flushing away minerals and water-soluble vitamins.
People with diabetes tend to drink a lot of extra water. They tend to flush too much calcium out of their system. Most people in the US are short on calcium, and that's especially true of women who tend to develop osteoporosis.
So making milk a significant part of your half gallon per day is a good idea.

They say people should drink 8 glasses of water a day - each glass being 8 oz. of water. It isnt too much if you think about it - just fill up a water bottle like a 20 oz a few times a day! haha I was just thinking about this earlier too!

I've heard that you should drink half your body weight in ounces. Ex. 120 lbs. = 60 oz. water/day

That depends entirely on what you eat. If you eat loads of raw fruit and veg you probably don't need much. If you subsist on processed, salty junk food probably up to 4 pints a day.
