Honestly I am a perfect example of why it pays to keep pressing. Before I came to R&S I had a lot of ideas about God that I finally figured out were based on absolutely nothing but what others had told me my whole life. Not truth.

I wouldn't say it was unscientific, no. That's implying that we're expecting a certain outcome based on hard evidence. Well the opposite can be said, since we often come into problems with creationists disregarding said evidence. Perhaps it's the idea that if you keep at it with someone eventually they'll come around to your way of thinking. Imagine sometime in your life when your friends tried to persuade you to do something and you initially said no. After most likely numerous attempts you would give in and engage in said activity. Whether or not any Creationists would ever come around to the scientific way of thinking is uncertain. I'd say many would, probably those who in the past have simply been denied the chance to check the facts regarding evolution and natural selection. Others would most likely never change, but that would be less due to providing a logical argument, more their deep-seeded faith that prevents them from taking on new ideas and theories since it would be sacreligious.

Don't show anybody that doesn't ask. But when one of you asks me why I don't believe in god do you want me to answer with something other than with what is true about my thoughts? Of course everyone isn't persuaded by scientific evidence. To believe in something with so much evidence pointing to other explanations is by definition delusional thinking so I don't understand why everyone is not persuaded by the evidence. But eighty five percent of Americans are under the delusion that there is a god in spite of the vast amounts of evidence. Fine with me but don't expect my answer to be any different than what it is. We ain't voting on it.

Why do you think Atheists are unmoved by the Creationists BS? Isn't assuming everyone is persuaded by Creationism, BS?

Because when I was a Christian, trying to maintain belief, I was open to reading scientific articles and evidence. Granted I tried desparatly to find a way to disprove it, but in the end had to admit that the bible was short on information.
It is my hope that there may be a few Christians trying to find truth, just like I was.

Because they seem to believe they are the smartest people in the world and just can't stand any opposing viewpoints. They are right and everyone else is a moron.
Little wannabe dictators is all they are. Fascists through and through.
They claim tolerance of others is the only way yet they are intolerant of others beliefs.

Consider it puppy training. Puppies don't get it the first time but it is hoped that with some corrective repetition they will come to understand that pooping into your stereo headphones is a no-no and they will eventually learn how to signal for "walkies." Now I realize it's unfair to compare a puppy's brain to a creationist's brain, since little doggies actually have one, but hope springs eternal and one day I would like to say, look, they CAN be taught. (Creationists that is.)

I am convinced that no amount of proof will penetrate the mind of a creationist. If they were capable of logical thought, they would not be creationists to begin with.
Evolution is fact. Why does evolution necessarily disprove Genesis? It doesn't have to in my opinion.

No no no, I trust in the basic working of the human brain. Inside every creationist brain is a rational subconscious that is screaming to get out. Keep feeding it and eventually the dam will burst.
They read it, they process it. They may consciously reject it but it is still processed.

Because that is what you do with scientific evidence. You look at it, examine it and make a judgment or hypothesis based on it. You don't just ignore or refute it simply because it may disprove some mythological being.
