Yes! Try a 2006 Mark West Pinot Noir - just under twelve dollars I think - I am telling you, it is sooo good and I can't believe it is so damn cheap too. Not too sweet either as I hate overly sweet wines! But not overly dry - just right!
The price will allow you to buy a few bottles at a time to entertain your friends, or yourself, if you prefer! And because it's light you won't get an awful hangover! Assuming that is, you don't drink more than one bottle to yourself!
TWO - If you like Bordeauxs then you have GOT TO TRY the 2003 Chateau du Petit Puch Graves De Vayres. It is smooth, a little heavier, more like a Merlot....unbelievable and just under twenty where I bought it. This is for when you want more body in your wine. I had some fancy cheese with this wine but I think it would go better with something spicier, like some seasoned olives, etc...
Trust me, if you don't like either, I will send you twenty bucks for your trouble!

It depends on what food you will have with it?
In general try: La Crema Pinot Noir. Right around $20 and very delicious!
If you are having steak, game or something on the strong side then definantly go for a Spanish or Argentinian Shiraz.
If you are having something light or having something spicy then go for a red Zinfendal (the ONLY red wine that gets served chilled).
I hope this helps!

I would go with Hayman & Hill Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley. Retails between $13.00 and $15.00.

Everyone's tastes are different, so it would be impossible to give you a specific answer. All liquor stores and most grocery stores have people who can guide you, but, ultimately, the decision is yours. Be prepared to tell them what you currently like and don't like.

I like Lambrusco because you drink it cold. Room temp wines don't do a thing for me! Good luck!
