Why do muslims revere Muhammad? Who is Muhammad?

He was a cold-blooded murderer who mercilessly slaughtered thousands. Many people say that Islam is a religion of peace. How can it be a religion of peace if its followers are exalting a murderer? I think Muhammad is a disgrace to Islam and should be dropped from the list of prophets. Why don't you exalt Jesus instead of Muhammad? How many people did Jesus kill? None.

Explain please.

arch0049, St Paul did kill many good people, but he realized he did wrong, and he repented. Anyway, we Christians don't worship St Paul. Nor do we follow any of the crusaders. But you do follow Muhammad who was a murderer, and this is why many faithful muslims become suicide bombers and terrorists today. A fish stinks from the head first.

Mohammad was a MURDERER and taught his followers that if anyone would not follow him they should be KILLED. Mohammad was an egotistical liar. He stole the moon god allah from the Bedouins and took teachings from the Romn Catholics to create his religion of Islam in doing so he made a typographical error and a spelling error You see in truth
Islam IS LAME! The followers of Mohammad preach murder and if anyone in an Islamic Country even tries to own a Bible they are put to death, so great is the fear y the leaders that their people will learn the truth that Mohammad was not a prophet of God but a tool of Satan. Can't you see how your vitriolic attacks on another religion is exactly what is wrong in this world? There are many peaceful people that are Muslims, and if we are to live in this world together, we have to learn to respect each other's beliefs. And respect those who do not believe at all!

Christians have had their moments of brutality also. There was the Inquisition, with the Rack and other tortures. There were the Crusades, where innocent people were slaughtered. I suppose Islam is the same way, riddled with violence. Let us hope most of us turn our backs on the brutality of history. We know that some of us do not, because of the fundamentalists, the ones we call terrorists. But certainly all Muslims are not terrorists.

I would advise you to Chill! Give each human respect and consideration. We can see ourselves what is happening to Jesus' admonitions of love, peace and forgiveness. Not too much of that going on! So, concentrate on correcting your own faith, following the instructions Jesus left behind, and we may all learn to live in this world peacefully!

What about Muhammad, could he be a prophet? Well, in Matthew 7:15-17 Jesus said that you can tell by their fruit if someone is genuine or not. “Through skillful warfare, debate, and intimidation, Muhammad had submitted all of Arabia to Islamic authority. In the process, his military killed thousands of people. Muhammad and his army had taken their wealth and sold their women and children into slavery.” “Muhammad began to aggressively pursue people who posed no threat to him at all.” *
John 10:10…This was the fruit of Muhammad’s life.

To answer one of your many questions, Islam cannot be a religion of peace, the very name "Islam" means submission.

In fact, Islam becam known as "the religion of the sword" because of the violent bloodshed that went ahead of its followers.

Here are some facts for your opposition that do not want to see the truth, but want to believe a lie...still if they choose to keep their heads in the ground, there is nothing we can do:


Before Muhammad left Mecca for Medina, while Muslims were being persecuted and harassed, Muhammad’s thoughts toward other religions was tolerance. (Surah 2:256, 29:46) But after Muhammad tasted blood his thoughts toward “unbelievers” was hostility. (Surah 8:39, 8:65, 9:5, 9:29) How do you explain this contradiction or at the very least momentous shift in thinking? The Quran attempts to justify its hiccup in doctrine. (Surah 2:106,16:101) So apparently there is continuous revelation with Islam. Which explains how some could arbitrarily add a 6th pillar to Islam…Jihad.

Who knows where this works-based cult will end, why couldn’t a major Islamic leader implement more rules, more regulations and more duties?

The god of Islam feels it necessary to fight, defend, control. While the God of Christianity feels it necessary to submit, obey, love. Jesus never once asked the disciples to fight, literally for Him. You know why? Because He is the God of the universe, He doesn’t need us to win battles, He wins them for us. (Matt. 26:52-54) In addition, God will never force us to believe something we don’t want to believe in. The god of Islam MUST force you to believe because you won’t believe its lies and contradictions on your own.

And about the Crusades: These people were Christians by name only. They disobeyed the Word of God and they were led astray by the desires of their hearts. The simple fact is that every person who participated in the Crusades was going against the teachings of Christ. The difference between that and how Islam was spread is in whether or not they were following the example of their leader. Islam most definitely was.

In the Koran Jesus is said to be virgin birth but Mohammad is God's messager. You can not be wrong if you start the religion. A lot of people use religion to justify the evil they do. The Muslims would not want me to the Americans, for I would use their religion against them. The only way you can keep me from going to heaven is to get me to deny Christ but if you make them eat pork, hang them in a pig skin and then put them in the ground still with the skin. They are barred from heaven.

What have you done, 1400 years after Muhammads death his influence is such that he is still hated by people like you, and loved by 1b people. I bet 50 years after your death no one will remember you, yet alone love and revere you. Have you taken on society and changed it for the better, have you started off a new religion, could you spown the greatest empire the world have ever seen?
