There are none. The closer to the source you can procure your food, the better. Any food that is manufactured, packaged, shipped, cooked ( or reheated), prepared and Served can not be as good as something you picked off the vine and bit into.
Fast food has brought acceptance of lower quality standards to our society. There is no way a McDonalds salad ( I picked a healthy choice) can compare to a locally grown salad.
Ok... Compare hamburgers. would you rather a thin ( I would say hockey puck but hocky pucks are far thicker than a Mc D's Burger. ) or, one that you make your self... thick and Juicy. with fresh condiments. MMMM
How about the pickles... would you accept those thin floppy pickles when you could have a crisp fresh pickle?
Or the Fries.. ( actually potatoes are fairly good for you.. but add all that fat and they are not as good.._) Why not make your own... They are sooo good.
Eat at home. Use the time to teach your children to cook. Make it fun. Save the money and save your health. Even better, enjoy the REAL flavor of fresh food.

What fast food has brought to our society in the postive light is alot of money into the economy. Whatever people say about fast food, it's a big money maker. Places like McDonalds and Burger King are also highly traded stocks on the NYSEC, infact I even own McDonald stock, and it's actually a safe stock that almost always goes up.

fast food is very convenient. you can grab a bite and ran. besides, the price offered is reasonable.
what has fast food brought to our society? well, we learn to choose the easy way out rather than preparing a healthy meal for good health. in order words, more convenient the better at health's expense

Low financial cost. In addition to their low cost price, they negate the need to store fresh food and therefore the likelihood of wasteage is significantly lower.
Low time cost. Convenience foods significantly reduce the time spent shopping for and preparing a meal.
Variety. Due to packaging techniques such as canning and freezing, foods are available at all times of the year.
Food safety. Packaging and processing techniques, such as canning, freezing, and irradiation, reduce spoilage and the presence of bacteria in the consumed products.
They are often high in fat and calorie content, and over consumption of convenience foods is often linked to obesity

1) Convenience
2) USA has competitive edge in this area & US based fast food companies have gone global.
3) Research & development of such food has led to useful technology. (i.e. better freezing techniques to preserve freshness, faster processing machines, new product ideas, methods for cutting costs)
4) Jobs - corporate jobs & low paying manual jobs.
5) Fast food makes it easier to travel by car so it fosters tourism.
6) Another marketing opportunity for movies & toys.
7) A low cost place for families to eat.

conveinience, also it can be fun to treat kids once in a while let them eat and play and spend time with them instead of cooking. Many fast food places are coming out with healthy alternatives...ex. McDonalds you can put apples and milk in the Happy Meal instead of fries and soda.

Fast food as the name implies. It can be eaten on the go. It has contributed to our unhealthy lifestyle by usually being high in fat and sodium.
