There's a brew out of California that gets bottled and shipped right around this time of year for about 2 months and then it's all gone...it's called "Barley Wine" and it's actually a very strong beer, reminiscent of the beers of Europe. Because of its' alcohol content, in the U.S. they are forced to label it a wine; but buddy, let me tell you: That is some good stuff!!! I can't remember exactly, but it may be bottled by the Buffalo Brewery...just a guess.

Generally, the domestic segment is all horrible.
If you want a good, distinctive beer - it's better to go for either a Craft beer or an import.
Blue Moon, made by Coors, is a good product with an orangy taste. They seem to have that just about everywhere. It's usually served with a slice of orange.
A great style beer is Hefeweizen. Several breweries make hefeweizens. They also have a distinct citrus taste that's very appealing.
If you're looking for something a little lighter, Stella is a very popular import right now. Also, Harp's is great.
Guiness is the perfect darker beer.
If you want to mix it up... get a black and tan.
All this talking about it is making me thirsty... have fun tonight and be careful.

I don't know if they'll have it where you're going, but I just tried a new beer last night and it may be my new favorite -- Golden Monkey from Victory. It's a Belgian-style ale with 9.7% abv. Very good stuff.
Samuel Adams Summer Ale is perhaps my favorite beer, and is only available for a few more weeks. Definitely give that one a try.

I particularly like Saranac IPA. It's brewed in Utica, NY at FX Matts Brewery. Saranac makes other good beers too if you're not an IPA fan. Try their lager, black and tan or summer ale.
Pete's Wicked Ale is another one of my favorites

sure, yet in comparison to Australian Beers, it particularly is poo. maximum important manufacturers could be discovered right here in case you poke around somewhat (Ex. Budweiser, Miller) besides the shown fact that, it may flavor somewhat diverse than the american brewed, because of the fact the alcohol share is upped, back into line with Aussie stuff (4.9% for heavies)
