It looks like my sister, who's in her 50s, will get married for the third time. No engagement yet, but we're "hearing wedding bells". My other sister and I have never been married. So, I'm thinking of getting my sister, if she does get engaged the third time, a gag gift of a copy of Gone with the Wind--book and/or movie--or maybe a Scarlett O'Hara doll in a wedding dress, if I can afford that. Scarlett married three times while her sisters never did.

When my pastor had his fourth daughter--no sons--I got him the book LIttle Women. When a churchmate had her fourth daughter--no sons--I got her Little Town on the Prairie. When her fifth child was a boy, I told her that if she'd had a fifth daughter, I'd have gotten her Fiddler on the Roof.

So, what do you think of Gone with the Wind for my possibly thrice-married sister?

You watch way too many movies. Hehehe ; )

On a serious note, I love the Scarlett O'Hara gift. If she's a good sport, she won't take offense to it.

Very clever!

Good luck

I think if she shares your sense of humor, she'll probably laugh and enjoy it. If she doesn't, it could fall flat.

Decide based on what your sister's sense of humor is like.

After all, sisters can be very different. My great aunt, for instance, always had a great wisecrack about something and loved silly stories. My grandmother - her sister - was so humorless she was offended when the people around her laughed at a PDQ Bach concert. She never got the joke!

Me? I'd probably laugh. But you know your sister better than we do.

Very apropos.

Hope you find something below.

I was going to suggest the business card of a divorce lawyer, but I think your idea is nicer. ^-^

I'd give her a book she can actually use:

Dr. Phil's Relationship Rescue.

If she doesn't need it now, she will soon!

if she's familiar with the plot of the book and has a sense of humour, sounds good!
