I ask this question because there is this notorious apartment area by the college I'm going to that people say has this problem. The girls are so easy on weekends that wholescale orgies happen here and there is a female to male ratio of about 80%. I don't know if I want to try my chances of getting in the pool tommorow night and getting weird red bumps around my genitlia. I might just take a drunk one home and triple wrap Mr. Johnson.

I knew about the chlorine but I've been out of country for years (was in the service) and I've heard that America is dirtier than ever before, sexually. I talked to 5 different people around here and maybe they were just saying it as a joke, but you have to take the necessary precautions.

There is been NO reported case where mode of transmission was traced to shared pool experiences. I would think choline will kill it, and with vast amount of water involved, even without choline, it would be impossible to get the concentration high enough to infect anybody.

With that said.... Your danger might not be just a pool water. If the environment is that "unsavory", you might want to avoid the place altogether for sake of personal safety.

Not from a pool. The only way you could get it from a toilet seat is if the person before you rubbed their genitals against the seat really vigorously with an open soar or infected discharge, and then they popped up and you immediately sat down and repeated what they just did. In that case, yes, it would be possible. Otherwise you're fine. Although, if they are having orgies, well you'll come out of the pool with a bunch of your neighbor's nastiness in your hair and on your skin. Better to stay at home and take a bath.

Since you've made it all the way to college, you should know by now that STD stands for "sexually" transmitted disease, not "swimming" transmitted disease. The chlorine content in public pools like this is rather high, plus any "bodily" fluids that may leave the body usually cannot live outside of the body... and if they can, the chlorine will kill them.

so let me get this, you are afraid of getting an STD from a pool, but not from one of the girls that may have one?? Hmmm, I think you should stay away from both. The pool wont give you one but the girls can, even if you wrap Mr. Happy 100 times. Be careful.

You have GOT to be kidding me!? How old are you and where were you in High School when they had no class on Health Education?? Man...and, unless you're going to Smith, Wellesley or Brown(which are traditionally women's colleges) there are NO schools in America which have a ratio of 80/20 women to men. Keep dreaming...

NO , but you can get staff infections or MRSA . They really nasty infections , you get it from the dirty water that nasty people have been in . If you have a little cut or even an ingrown hair , you can get it . Be careful , those two infections are bad , youll need to get the area infected cut open and packed with gauze for like weeks .

I think the chlorine kills everything.. not sure though. It's pretty unlikely, in any case.
And yes, if you're a girl, you can get gonnorrhea from toilet seats so that person doesn't know what they're talking about.
