What is the best kind of flowmasters to put on my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 V8 5.9L? I don't want it to be loud in the cab of the truck. Just a good deep sound from the pipes. Please tell me what I should ask for when I go to the muffler shop? Thanks.

Definetly go with a 3 chamber muffler I have ran both 2 and 3 chamber mufflers. For that tinny mopar small block sound turn the exhaust out in front of the tires. For a deeper more rich sound run them to the rear. With the 3 chamber you may have a slight in cab noise but it shouldn't be intolerable.Good luck

Flow master super 40s. very aggressive and muscle car Mopar tone.
OR 2ND
get the flow master >Performance Series< truck mufflers
they are slightly cheaper and then tell the tech who installs the pipes to Dump the pipes about 4-6" after it come out of the mufflers instead of running a complete tail pipe with chrome tips.
Dude this Suonds is the bomb especially on dodges because Mopars V8s desgine push a bit more air through the engines.

the guys at the shop will look up your truck and tell you what to put on it. They should ask you if you want dual or single exhaust. keeping it single means they use the same tail piece you already have, reducing the cost. If you choose dual, then price goes way up! both ways sound really good, cab noise is low, and it sounds awesome from outside!

Tell them you want a 3 chamber SUV Flowmaster. I do not remember the part # cuz it has been a few years since I did exhaust work. The SUV does not resinate in the cab and give you a head ache.

best to just ask the muffler guys when you go to the shop

also tell them you dont want it too loud in the cab ......they can put the mufflers back farther towards the rear to help cut down on the noise in the cab
